instrumental sludge: Zolle (Italy): Zolle
Zolle (Italy): “Zolle”
Zolle may be “instrumental sludge”, but the recording is about 28 minutes and 9 of the 10 songs are about 2 ½ minutes, on average, more or less.
I get the impression that you can mosh to this because it’s so likeable and easy to get into. Zolle has a rockingness to them, it’s groovy, catchy, yet very heavy. And fun!
Oh, no, the band will hate it, but I’m tempted to call this “punk sludge” because it’s so compact and moshable. Don’t get the wrong idea, though, Zolle is still tons heavy.
Also, Zolle has a guitar sound that is peculiar. It’s fuzzy, massive, but warm, almost happy. It’s the darnest thing! You should hear for yourself. I don’t have the knowledge of musical equipment to explain the warmth of the sound. Again, hear for yourself.
Zolle: the most fun you can have with sludge.
