The album is a relatively direct-impact mix of groove metal, thrash, and death metal. It scales back some of the tribal-experimentation from earlier albums to focus on heavy riffs, fast tempos, and aggressive rhythms. This album, I would say, is a type of synthesis, a balance of all the things that Max likes in his music: metal, yes, but with some rough edges, and with a bit of sideways energy, too.
