LOUDNESS heavy metal anniversary

August 10, 1987: Loudness - Hurricane Eyes
The Metal Archives shows August 10, 1987 as the release date on Atco Records. The band achieved success in the USA with their 1985 album Thunder in the East, quickly followed that up in 1986 with the album Lightning Strikes, and not wasting any time in the action-packed busy schedule, the hard-working band in 1987 returned with another new studio album Hurricane Eyes. The band delivers prototypical 1980s heavy metal again with rockers and uptempo songs and great shredding, exactly what they are known for.
The Loudness fan on The Metal Archives named "kluseba" wrote about this album: "In the end, this record is a big step forward for the Japanese heavy metal legend ... Especially the vocals are performed with more versatility than ever before and give a very emotional touch to the release. Instrumentally, the drums sound better and more diversified than before. Bass and guitar vary more between the extremes of commercial, melodic and soft parts on one side and aggressive, chaotic and fast passages on the other side. This record is ... still among the better stuff they've recorded and contains a couple of classics such as 'SDI' that still happen to be relevant nowadays."
