MESARTHIM is an anonymous duo from Australia, formed in 2015, with themes of astronomy, physics, and outer space. On The Metal Archives, the two members are listed simply as "." and ".". Their sound is a mix of atmospheric black metal and electronic music, featuring extreme vocals and soaring synth melodies. According to reports, they performed live for the first time in September 2024 at the Cosmic Void Festival in London, wearing futuristic clothing and LED masks. They frequently use NASA telescope imagery and star charts for their aesthetic.
"Atmospheric Black Metal from Australia. Mesarthim have a unique way of blending electronic tunes & melodies with perfect black metal. They do this in a way that is so natural it never ceases to amaze me! Plus they just keep getting better & better at it! Just when you thought they had reached perfection... :)" -bmurator, Bandcamp
"When Mesarthim sends its transmissions to Earth, we are facing a planetary-scale musical event. Planet Nine concentrates what Mesarthim does best and even goes much further: between the title track—full of variations and even venturing slightly into electronic music (almost psytrance)—and 'Burial,' which features exceptional guitar solos, we are witnessing the absolute finest in atmospheric and cosmic black metal. What more could you ask for? Favorite track: Planet Nine." (translation from the original French) -Nocturnal Egg (Jordan), Bandcamp
