With all the news of people going into outer space, and all the talk of the Moon and Mars—add to that the news of corruption, power, politics, and weaponry—I wonder if VoidChaser is making the music of the present and future all at once. I think I have read that certain bands are ready to play a concert on the Moon or in a space station, but maybe I should give this Human/Canadian/Swedish/Cyborg band a phone call and see if they want to join this new project of playing in space? I can call NASA and see what we can work out. Okay, while I work on those phone calls, why don't you check out the exciting space-story, exploration-corruption metal of this album? It is eight tracks in 48 and a half minutes, but it is actually a ticket for a trip. I recommend a safety belt.

ABOUT THE BAND: Montreal (QC) / Stockholm (SE) - International Progressive Metal band, Voidchaser, have announced the April 9th release of their second full-length album, titled Interstellar I. Depicting themes of technological overreach, mass corruption and personal struggles related to identity, love and survival, the narrative unfolds within a vast, lore infused deep space universe. Interstellar I balances a dense and layered wall of sound with high-energy choruses and memorable melodies, where every moment serves the storytelling. Musically, the album brings to mind the style of Devin Townsend’s Ziltoid the Omniscient and Dream Theater’s Systematic Chaos, while reinterpreting those influences through Voidchaser’s own modern and distinctive sound, also drawing from classic foundations found in Deep Purple’s Machine Head and Black Sabbath’s Paranoid.
