** ** German power metal band GAMMA RAY has an appropriate song on this matter, from 1991: "Rich and Famous" ("Sigh No More" album) ** I don't believe in fame, I believe in music. I don't believe in money, I believe in the power of love. I know I got a brain and I know how to use it. I don't want no one to stick his finger in my pie. You think you put your best foot forward But it is moved by someone else. In blind belief you follow every path that says: I lead you to a universe of fortune, fame and luck. Do you really wanna be - rich and famous, rich and famous. Do you really wanna be - rich and famous now. I don't believe in Rock 'n' Roll illusions. I don't believe that what they say must always be the truth. I don't believe in good guys against bad guys. I just might as well say I believe in Santa Claus. You think you put your best foot forward But it is moved by someone else. In blind belief you follow every path that says: I lead you to a universe of fortune, fame and luck. Do you really wanna be - rich and famous, rich and famous. Do you really wanna be - rich and famous now. Mr. Big shot what is your game Mr. Big shot what is your final aim. Now you wonder who is to blame. Mr. Big shot what is your final aim in life. Rich and famous, house with two hours, big jacuzzi, car with TV. Private airplane, furs and diamonds, seafood cocktails- CRAP AND BULLSHIT! Do you really wanna be - rich and famous, rich and famous. Do you really wanna be - rich and famous now. www.facebook.com/theoriesgrind/?fref=ts

Seattle grind THEORIES statement: rich and famous
Theories is living it up, and the cash is rolling in.
**
**
Seattle grind band THEORIES posted a statement about money and the life of a band, their band.
**
**
**
In light of recent "news stories" and people in bands complaining about not making enough money on their bands to make a living. Here's the deal....
We do this for the love of it, enjoying making music, hanging out with friends, traveling the country, other countries, meeting new people and again, making fucking noise.
Bands, especially in the heavy music scene, don't make fucking money. If you're lucky, you don't lose money.
We all work jobs when we're home, some of us 2 or 3 jobs just to make ends meet and to make it so we can afford to tour. That's the way it goes, this is what I signed up for 15 years ago when I first started touring and what all of Theories signed up for 4 years ago when we started touring.
Our economy is shit, the music economy is getting worse and worse, so? Who gives a fuck. If you are doing this for any other reason than to have something in your life to be passionate about and to be able to look back at your life and feel like you did something that made you happy, then you're doing it wrong.
There are a million things to bitch about in the world, but bitching about not making money off your "art" or "passion" isn't a valid argument.
This isn't for everyone, and that's fine. If you don't wanna work your ass off, live paycheck to paycheck and put most of your money into this, don't fucking do it!!
There's more than enough bands out there that do it with no expectations other than having a fucking blast.
I could continue on forever about this but I'll end it here.
This is music, this is our lives, this makes us happy. It comes at a price and we are more than willing to pay it cause this is the shit!!
Grind On!!
