doom from Seattle: Army of Dagon

Army of Dagon
Army of Dagon
release date: September 1st, 2015
This Seattle/Washington state doomster alliance released its album not too long ago.
The band uses the following description: “Army of Dagon formed in Seattle in the spring of 2011. They combine elements of Heavy Metal, Traditional Doom, Heavy Rock, and Pop to create anthemic dirges that speak of nature, ghosts, old religions, and battles lost. In the summer of 2015, the band celebrated the release of its self-titled first album.”
Don’t let the words “pop” and “dirge” confuse you, friend. It’s not pop music and it’s not sludge, either. It sounds like doom with traditional vocals, more or less. There are little hints of other genres, but overall it sounds coherent and traditional. Given that you kids today enjoy lots of barking/screaming/angry vocals y’all might be really confused. Y’all might be wondering what those vocals are.
Is that singing? You don’t say! You mean there are bands still doing that thang? Yup. Army of Dagon’s is the name, friend.
