the death metal of Entrails (Sweden): Resurrected from the Grave (Metal Blade Records)
Entrails (Sweden): Resurrected from the Grave (Metal Blade Records)
Entrails claims that they started in 1990 and wrote songs back then, but that things did not really go far in the 90s and they split up. Then, in 2008 they started back up again. In 2009 the band recorded two demos of those old 90s songs: “Reborn” and “Human Decay” in the style of Stockholm/Sunlight-style death metal. Those two demos comprise this compilation called “Resurrected from the Grave,” which is raw recordings with drum programming, according to Metal Archives. Even so, however, the songs sound rather good, actually. The guitar tone is thick, as expected, and the vocals stay low and caveman-ish. Of course, if you don’t like this style, you should not even bother here, but if you find the band’s story interesting, Entrails is pretty solid. Nowadays the band has three full-length albums and they are working on a fourth title. On the other hand, these demos are definitely for the total diehard zealots of everything classic Stockholm death. The band declares that they play death metal exclusively. No “melodic” this or that, death metal only. Who wouldn’t like a band with that attitude?!
