VANHELGD Releases Lead Track From Relics Of Sulphur Salvation Via Decibel Magazine
VANHELGD unloads disparaging and vicious Swedish death with an incredibly calculated delivery, the roots of the sound born of their country's genre-forging names, citing Entombed and Dismember and early At The Gates, yet the bleak and blackened aura of their riffing suggests the influence of contemporary scene kings, Watain, Morbus Chron, Bastard Priest and the like. A pessimistic album unapologetically awash in punishing tones courtesy of producer Joona Hassinen who recorded and mixed these eight anthems at Studio Underjord, the final mastering for Relics Of Sulphur Salvation was handled by Tore Stjerna at the infamous Necromorbus (Repugnant, Watain, Tribulation), and the lead call to arms riff of "Dödens Maskätna Anlete" casts an immediate sense of your impending termination and the putrid stench of death permeates the listener's existence.
