celebrating Miles Davis on his birthday: May 26
Miles Davis (May 26, 1926 – September 28, 1991) was an American trumpet player, songwriter, and band leader. He is widely considered one of the most important and influential musicians in the history of jazz. Over a 50-year career, Miles continued changing the direction of music. Instead of playing just one style, he worked on new types of jazz. His music ranged from smooth, quiet, late-night sounds to rock-and-jazz fusion. He was famous for a "less is more" style. Instead of playing as fast as possible, he focused on choosing a few perfect notes and using moments of total silence to create deep emotion. Due to his fearless, experimental attitude, even modern heavy metal and avant-garde musicians still look up to him today.
Below are a couple metal artists who are inspired by Miles Davis.
