SAXON - "Militia Guard"- SAXON heavy metal discography

According to The Metal Archives, May 21, 1979 is the release date for self-titled debut album by Saxon. "Militia Guard" is song number eight. It is the last song on the album. Some sources say that singer Biff Byford and the band reflected in later years that songs like "Militia Guard" were inspired by a fascination with classic history, swords, and medieval lore. It stood out on their debut album because, while most of the record focused on street-level hard rock and motorcycling themes, "Militia Guard" laid the foundation for Saxon’s grander, epic storytelling style seen in later tracks like "Crusader".
