Metal Archives shows that Ernesto "Pito" Colon died today, February 9th, 2026. Ernesto was a guitarist best known for his time as a guitarist for the aggressive, heavy-duty metal/hardcore band Merauder (New York), from approximately 2013 to 2018. After Merauder he was with Dead Earth (Cleveland, Ohio), formed in 2018 and later solidified with a veteran lineup. Dead Earth with Ernesto featured a metallic, thrash, groove sound, on the 2023 album From the Ruins. Metal Archives shows that Dead Earth is no longer active, while for Merauder Metal Archives that they are active nowadays: 1990-2003, 2007-present.
