Dark Arena -- U.S. metal from Ohio
U.S. heavy metal band Dark Arena has a new song on YouTube ahead of the album release. The album has quite a story. The band's guitarist Paul Konjicija died in 2019, but this is the album recorded in 2018 before his death. The Cleveland, Ohio band has three previous albums since the beginning in 2004. The sound of the band features banshee-scream singing, and a certain heavy metal style with some prog tones in some places. The next-to-last song has some keyboards and a more prog-leaning feel, but in general the album does not have lots of keyboards, and the prog is not over done. Fans of the old-school style, especially in the singing of Juan Ricardo, could find something to investigate here.
