NOLTEM - atmospheric melodic extreme metal from Connecticut, USA

Atmospheric melodic extreme band NOLTEM now has two songs streaming from their full-length Illusions in the Wake scheduled for early October 2021. It looks like they previously did an EP in 2015. They probably have a lot more history that will come out later because they seem to have had a gap of 10 years between 2005 (their first demo) and 2015 of no recordings, according to the information on Metal Archives. In 2021 audiences should expect music that emphasizes atmopherics and melancholic vibes, with growling (not shrieked) vocals, and a type of sad, melodic black metal aesthetics in the songwriting. The music is not particularly slow, and certainly not super slow, although the band prefers a moody type of sound. Some people might call this atmospheric melodeath or atmospheric melodic black metal, and if you split the difference, they'd both be correct. In fact, don't worry about the category. As long as you are interested in brooding, pleasant, ear-friendly songwriting, NOLTEM should be an enjoyable listening experience, whether the music is slowing down a bit or speeding up to blasting black metal velocities.
