review: Deathnoisefrequency

Deathnoisefrequency
Horrid Dirge
17 July 2020
The “music” falls, more or less, in the category of doom, a psychedelic-shamanic type of ambient, droning trippy doom. This will not make people think about Black Sabbath nor Candlemass nor Eyehategod. It might make you think of that dude, you know, that strange dude in your town that stands in the same street corner every day warning the population that the end is nigh with the extraterrestrials taking over planet Earth. Maybe imagine that same strange dude with some trippy slow “riffs” performing ritualistically, chanting calls of a drunk monk channeled through a metal hippie. The vocals sound like a monk (or a drunk dude on the street) chanting blessings or esoteric spiritual jiveturkeyspeak. It’s remarkably relaxing. Perhaps this is the music for those yoga sessions that you’ve been wanting to do but couldn’t because you were not able to find the correct “music”. Say hello to Deathnoisefrequency.
