OFFICIAL: Scatha came together at the end of 2004 when Cíntia Ventania (Bass) met Julia Pombo (Guitar) and started a metal band. In mid 2005, Cynthia Tsai Yuen (Drums), Paula Leão (Guitar) and Rebecca Schwab (Vocal) joined the band, forming the first official lineup.
Scatha had their first show at the legendary “Garage”, a well known venue in Rio de Janeiro – Brasil. The band had a couple of songs (Breaking proofs and Own War) ready for this first gig. The performance was a big hit. The public loved them. They loved the energy and music of five young girls rocking out on stage, playing good old fashioned heavy thrash. After that, the band kept gigging in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo region. Always surprising the public, and continually stirring up curiosity about the band.
In 2007 Scatha welcomed Angélica Burns into the band as the new vocalist, and soon after released the 5 track demo "Keep Thrashing!" Featuring all original songs with English and Portuguese lyrics. the demo really showed the bands diversity.
Years went by, but they didn't give up the dream to record an album. In 2016 a new vocalist (O Lenhador/The Lumberjack) joined the lineup and the band recorded their first full length album called "Take the Risk" released in april 4, 2017.
