NEWS: Greyhaze Records to Reissue SARCOFAGO's 'Die Hard' on Vinyl LP in October

Here is some news for the Sarcófago can't-get-enoughers!
OFIFICAL: Greyhaze Records has announced the October 7 reissue of SARCOFAGO's Die Hard on vinyl LP format. Beautifully packaged as a double-LP with Gatefold Jacket, the album will be available on black and limited-edition yellow vinyl, including an over-sized booklet and poster, as well as liner notes by SARCOFAGO front man Wagner Antichrist.
Die Hard is the only official, comprehensive collection of SARCOFAGO's demos. It includes material that had never before been made available, such as the band's very first demo recording, as well as material recorded for Rotting and The Laws of Scourge. SARCOFAGO's i nfluence and legacy in the realm of Extreme Metal cannot be overstated. Classics like INRI, Rotting, and The Laws of Scourge have paved the way for a large number of bands spanning various genres such as Black and Death Metal. The band's demos have been shamelessly bootlegged for decades and demand for an official demos collection has been constant.
Greyhaze Records has also partnered with artist Zbigniew Bielak (GHOST, WATAIN, etc.) to create the artwork for a very limited slipcase version of the vinyl reissue. Bielak had this to say about the project:
"It is always a thrill to work for a band that has shaped one's taste in music. Despite disbanding many years ago, still Sarcofago are the treasured ore to some of the most volatile fuel for the extreme metal scene. To me INRI may very well be the sole desert island album pick, when it comes to metal in general. Demos leading up to it's tainted conception, are among my favourite underground recordings, and its a great honor to be entrusted to contribute artwork for their long overdue official release."

GOATWHORE Announces US Live Dates Surrounding Ozzfest Appearance This Fall

OFFICIAL: New Orleans' road warriors GOATWHORE will return to the US tour circuit this Fall on a short run of live abrasions prior to and following their Ozzfest appearance in San Bernardino, California on September 24th. The trek will commence on September 16th and rupture fifteen stages through October 1st. Support will be provided by The Blood Royale on select dates. GOATWHORE's latest US journey will follow a two-week stretch of European onstage debauchery set to kick off next month.
Comments GOATWHORE frontman Ben Falgoust, "We have been associated with Ozzfest in the past and are grateful to be playing it this year, but being part of Black Sabbath's final West Coast show is another legendary experience to be affiliated with and be able to witness first hand, taking in every element of a band that has been a great influence on all levels in the metal world. Also, Ozzfest has given opportunities to countless freshly-emerging metal acts to forge new paths and give people new levels of extreme music to connect with and hear... that doesn't exclude this year. Tons of acts that have been pretty damn strong in the underground metal community will be making their first appearances at Ozzfest Meets Knotfest, as well as repeat acts that have been a part of it in the past. So, when you come to see Black Sabbath out West for their last time, come early and be a part of the future of metal, as well as it's legendary past."
Adds drummer Zack Simmons, "We are very honored to be a part of Black Sabbath's last ever California performance and Ozzfest's 20th Anniversary. It'll be a ripping day of heavy metal and a bittersweet farewell to the godfathers of the genre."

Inquisition

Seattle black metal band Inquisition's new album, Bloodshed Across the Empyrean Altar Beyond the Celestial Zenith, will be out on August 26 via Season of Mist. Listen to two new songs below.
OFFICIAL: The band Inquisition was formed in 1988 in Cali, Colombia by Dagon. The band started as a thrash metal act, and in 1994 evolved into raw black metal.
In 1996, Dagon left Colombia and moved back to the United States to continue Inquisition and search for a new drummer. That same year Dagon met Incubus, who joined the band on drums and the creation of their debut full length album began. This line-up has remained stable for more than fifteen years and is now seen as the classic Inquisition line-up.
INQUISITION style of black metal involves slow, deep and dark riffing combined with sudden tempo changes to faster sections based around blast beats and high-speed riffing; at times adding melodic solos. The classic Inquisition sound incorporates a combination of early era thrash metal-influenced riffing with darker and more chaotic black metal, primarily involving fast, tremolo picked minor-key guitar riffs, thus creating the trademark "Inquisition sound".

interview: Diabolizer

These days Turkey has been in the news a lot, and now Turkey is also in this publication, but for a different reason: Diabolizer, an extreme metal with a new recording called Apokalypse. The official information about the band reveals: “Diabolizer, the daemonic Death Metal entity consisting of members of Decaying Purity, Engulfed, Deggial and Godslaying Hellblast have finished first MCD Apokalypse. Apokalypse offers 5 tracks of relentless death metal containing diabolical skills, unending wrath and worship of destruction. As a bonus, the CD will also contain two tracks from their very limited 2012 promo Shadows Of Impending Decimation. Expect nothing but cruel, punishing and relentless death metal madness!”
Alright then, life is short and wasting time makes no sense, so let’s not waste any more time and find out more the band right now. This interview was answered by their growler Abomination Demonseed. That’s right, that’s his name. You like it, I know it. Listen to the complete new recording at the first link below. Let’s go. Hit it!
Hey, man, what’s on going with life with Diabolizer in 2016 in Turkey? Tell us about your band.
Hails! Diabolizer is from Kadıköy, İstanbul (for those who have a clue: placed at the Asian part of the city). Life in Turkey is pretty nerve-whacking and frustrating, but we're used to coping with that stuff. Good gigs are not frequent and the vast majority of the local metal "scene" is a big joke, but within a smaller scale we have many opportunities to kick butt and commit various levels of indecency.
When did the band start? Who are the members? Who is answering this interview?
Diabolizer was formed in 2012 by Mustafa (guitars) and Aberrant (drums); a short while after that I joined in as a vocalist. The current line-up consists of Mustafa and Ewan on guitars, Altuğ on bass, Aberrant on drums and me on vocals. We have recorded a two-song promo in 2012 and it's included as bonus tracks on our new EP, Apokalypse.
I have been listening to your new recording: Apokalypse. What can you tell us about it?
Apokalypse has recently been released by Third Eye Temple records, and it'll be available at many distros worldwide. Guitars and bass were recorded at Mustafa's place; drums and vocals were recorded at a professional studio ran by a close friend of mine, namely JamSession Studios; and the mastering was done by Ünsal Özata. We promise to deliver sick death metal fit for a neck breaking headbanging session infusing the listener with hatred, rage and maximum evil!
Who writes the songs: one person writing or several working together? What works better?
It's mostly Mustafa composing the songs. As for the other question, I've been in bands of either operation style, both ways can work well, depending on circumstances.
Now, what about your previous recording: Shadows of Impending Decimation? How would describe your previous music in relation to your new tunes?
Our only recording prior to Apokalypse is Shadows of Impending Decimation. The songs belong to the same timeframe with those on the EP, so there's not many stylistic differences.
Can you explain your early days in metal music and getting together?
Most of us have been metalheads since early ages. Mustafa, Aberrant and I have had experiences through various bands (some of which are still active) before we have met together under the banner of Diabolizer. Having had notable experiences both in studio and on the stage, we knew from the start we would be functioning well together, so it was not a big deal. We all know what we want to do and also how to do it, and that's pretty important to do your stuff right.
Any shows planned?
We'll be playing with Persecutory on the 30th of July in Kadıköy. There'll also be a gig in early February with Infernal War. So, we're open for invitations during that long gap haha.
Does your band have opportunities to earn some money from playing shows and selling shirts? Any bands that you like in the scene in Turkey?
I can't say we have made notable cash through music to this day, but money has never been a source of motivation for us. We're driven by the desire to play as sick, evil and repulsively as we can. We aim to play the most devastating and skullcrushing metal and break the limits and boundaries. We find a scikening delight in spitting forth words and notes of evil and destruction. As for the scene, notable bands are, Hellsodomy, Engulfed, Decaying Purity, Persecutory, Deggial, Godslaying Hellblast, Death Ritual, Impuration, Sarinvomit, Burial Invocation, Thrashfire.
What are your lyrics all about and are you happy with them?
I try to create the sickest, vilest, most perverted and Satanic lyrics I can. It's what I have been doing throughout my whole journey in metal. I can say I'm satisfied with my own work so far, but I also know that it can always get better. I thrive to grow up and put out a better effort with each passing song.
Do you think that metal music lyrics should cover certain topics? Are your personal beliefs and your lyrics connected?
What metal has always meant to me is the exaltation of the Devil, atrocities, perversions, destruction and misanthropy. Metal has to preach all that is negative and heinous. My beliefs and worldview have a huge impact on my lyrics, my lyrics are solely based on what I feel or what I envision.
Any last words?!
If anyone who reads has plans to be in S**tstanbul on the 30th of July, there will be a gig along with Persecutory. Don't miss it, since good stuff happens very rarely around here! Thanks for the support, A.M.S.G.

NEWS: Defiatory - Aeons End (official video)

NEWS:
Defiatory
Extinct
release date: June 3rd, 2016
label: Black Lion Productions
Check out the video by this thrash band from Sweden. It comes from their 2016 album. The band plays modern thrash and below you can watch the video and learn more about them.
OFFICIAL: Swedish Thrashers DEFIATORY and their debut full length offering "Extinct" is a ruthless riff steamroller, more punishing than any new modern style Thrash outfit around today. A nonstop barrage of eight bruising tracks, that gives one about two seconds to catch your breath between tracks, before you head right back into the maelstrom. This is the kind of album that causes whiplash!
OFFICIAL: Defiatory was formed from the roots of the East Bay Area thrash metal scene. With their straight and heavy riffs they have created a 8 songs, 39 minute long debut album called ”Extinct”. The sound takes you from early Megadeth, Exodus, Metallica to a more modern style of thrash.
After the departure from Aeon, Ronnie started up Defiatory in early 2015. Soon after, Martin Runnzell joined the band to fill the vocal spot. Martins voice caracter was just perfect for this purpose and within a week the band had created their first demo called ”Furor Unleashed”.
After releasing the Furor Unleashed demo, Jon Skäre joined up to fill the drum position.
A new demo was recorded at Garageland Studios during the summer of 2015 called ”Aeons End”. A three song demo that started the whole writing of the debut album.
In august Defiatory started to write songs for what was going to be their debut album and after recruiting lead guitarist Ludvig Johansson(Apostasy, Mesolimbic) and bassplayer Patrik Wall (Apostasy, Crowdburn) the band was complete.
Defiatory will make their first official live performance at House Of Metal on March 4th, opening the 10th anniversary of the festival.
The debut album was recorded at Garageland Studios in Umeå, produced, recoded and mixed by Ronnie Björnström. Mastered by Thomas Johansson at The Panic Room.

NEWS: SPELLCASTER - "Night Hides The World" Official Music Video

Night Hides the World
Prosthetic Records
Release: 8 July 2016
Below is the new video by Spellcaster, traditional heavy metal from the U.S. This is the official information about the band. Listen to the complete album at the link below.
You often catch that look. A band is on stage and all the members glance at each other with that “I’m feeling it” expression. The band is in the pocket, they have gelled and have become one cohesive unit and reach a sort of runners high for musician. This is exactly what happened to Portland’s heavy metal band, SPELLCASTER, going into their third (and Prosthetic Records debut) full length album, Night Hides The World.
Though it wasn’t on the stage where this happened, it was in the rehearsal room. Founding member and bass player Gabe Franco elaborates, “We have formed a hive mind together, which I assume will happen to any musicians who manage to play together 3 to 4 times a week for years on end.”
A team is always stronger than the individual. When synergy is reached, the group becomes unstoppable and output is at its highest, greatest and most effective. SPELLCASTER achieved this, allowing each individual to hit his peak performance which benefited the whole. Franco explains, “during our first 2 albums we were pretty selective – others might say nit-picky, about what riffs/lyrics we would use and how we wanted to sound, with this album I think we all collectively realized we are competent musicians and learned to trust each other more”
That trust gave way to 8 powerful, classic metal tunes. Biting sharp riffs from the twin guitar attack of shredders Cory Boyd and Bryce VanHoosen blend seamlessly with the rock-solid backbone of Franco and drummer Colin Vranizan. Tyler Loner adds soaring vocals on top of massive choruses to create the ultimate SPELLCASTER album.
Formed in 2009, the band’s debut EP, Spells of Speed, was self-released but later reissued by Heavy Artillery Records in 2010. The band toured the US with Evil Survives in support of the reissue, before returning to the studio to work on their debut full length. In the summer of 2011, Under The Spell came out to much acclaim, comparing the band to fellow Pacific NW metallers, Sanctuary and Metal Church.
Following this release, the band hit the road again, touring up and down the West Coast and all throughout the US. It was after this that band member changes and Heavy Artillery being sold resulting in them label-less painted a bleak picture for the band. Whereas other bands may have thrown in the towel, SPELLCASTER came out swinging harder than ever. New members were added and some roles were changed, then the band hit the road again, while writing for their second album. The self-titled, self-released, Joel Grind produced album garnered the most buzz the band ever had. They toured all throughout North America as well as headed overseas playing through Germany, The Netherlands and at the Headbanger’s Open Air festival. Many labels took notice and ultimately, the band signed with Prosthetic Record and began work on their third LP.
The recording for Night Hides The World was held in Oakland, CA and Portland, OR with Zack Ohren (All Shall Perish, Exmortus) handling production and mixing duties. The visceral achievement SPELLCASTER reached has created their fines release to date. Whereas previous releases were often compared to bands that have come before them, Night Hides The World sees the band standing on its own feet. They wear their influences on their ripped off battle vest sleeves of course, but the unit created has given rise to a modern, mature take on the classic genre of heavy metal.

interview: Interment

Interment is an old-school death metal band from Sweden that began in the late 80s. You might not have heard of them because they only had some demos in the early 90s, but it’s never too late to rock and roll and Interment is back in the saddle again, and has been for years. They have a 2016 album called Scent of the Buried and it’s a direct-impact recording made for the hearts of the golden age of death metal. The past is alive and Interment is back in action, gaining traction and wanting your reaction. To get a piece of this action you don’t have to be particularly good looking and you don’t have to be rich or anything like that. There is only one thing that you need to get on this ride: you want more death metal and there’s just never enough of it. Johan Jansson (guitars and vocals) answered the questions.
Hit it!
Hi! You are in Sweden, correct? How’s Interment doing there?
Hey! Well, you’re right that we are a death metal band from Sweden. We are from a small industrial town called Avesta where many bands like Uncanny, Fulmination, Uncurbed, and others were born back in the days. Right now it’s only me and the drummer who lives here, the other two guys is from Stockholm. We’re just regular guys with regular jobs that only want to play death metal, drink vodka, play live and have fun!
Who are the members of the band; who is answering this interview?
The current line-up is: (me) Johan Jansson – guitars/vox, Torbjörn Brynedal – guitars, Allan Lundholm – bass and Kennet Englund – drums. We have Simon Wizén (Valkyrja, Ondskapt etc) on livesession guitar instead of Torbjörn since the beginning of 2016.
What is “old school Swedish death metal,” in your opinion?
As you mention we play old school Swedish death metal and that means in the veins of early Entombed, Dismember, Grave, Unleashed, etc., the Stockholm sound around 1990. It’s all about the guitar sound, the Boss HM2 pedal and that many of the bands recorded in the legendary Sunlight Studio. Entombed’s Left Hand Path set the mark of that! The lyrics are only about death, carnage and graveyards etc. People call it what it is.
How many recordings do you have and where can people hear your music? What can you tell us about where you recorded it and what the listener can expect from Interment?
We actually only have made two full-lengths; Into the Crypts of Blasphemy 2010 and the recent Scent of the Buried 2016 both on cd/lp/mc. Our demography compilation 1991-1994 was released 2010 on cd/lp as well. Then we have made a bunch of split EPs with Funebrarum, Brutally Deceased, Tormented and Anatomia so far. Check out our website for full discography. We have recorded in Sunlight Studios, Unisound/Gorysound Studios, Erebus Odora Studios, Black Lounge Studios through the years.
You can listen to almost everything we have released on our Bandcamp and Spotify. I think mostly of our stuff is out on iTunes and other streaming sites as well. Then of course on YouTube where you also can find a lot of live clips/shows! I think the listener has to find it out by him/herself. But if you haven’t heard us before and like Swedish old school death metal you should be satisfied, I hope.
Is it true that you began in 1988?! What can you tell us about that time?
Yes, we started to jam 1988, mostly covers but we were rehearsing every weekend and started to make our own songs after a while. We only recorded two songs under the name Beyond, but we had a bunch of more songs that we took to Interment. Beyond released a homemade porta demo tape during the spring 1990. Then we changed name to Interment in the autumn same year. Well, we were some close friends that started the band and we were inspired by a lot of death metal and thrash metal bands like Celtic Frost, Death, Slayer, Merciless, Sodom, Destruction and Kreator just to name a few. It was a great time and we did some gigs under the name Beyond even that we didn’t have so much songs.
Any plans for touring?
Yeah, but right now we don’t have so much shows booked. We played at Maryland Deathfest in Baltimore in the end of May, but after the summer we have some shows coming up in Sweden. More shows are in the works both in Sweden and other countries. Hopefully in 2017 we’ll do a European tour and a US west coast tour and a lot of summer festivals everywhere.
What drives Interment at this point? I assume that you don’t make much money playing rotten death metal.
Well, that’s true. We don’t care so much, we just want to play death metal, drink vodka and have fun. The only money we get is from merchandise and when you play shows. Of course, it’s not so much but as long as it will break even we’re satisfied. Maybe someday we can earn some more money but we’re an underground death metal band so that will never happen.
What other Interment news do you have?
Check out our websites for news and upcoming gigs/tours. A split 7” EP will be out after the summer with PYRE from Russia. We really hope to be back in the states next year for a States both on the west coast and the east coast! The response of our show at MDF was overwhelming so I think people want us to be back again. Thanx a lot for the interview and good luck with the Metal Bulletin!! Hail and cheers!
/Johan
INTERMENT
BIOGRAPHY:
Interment started under the name Beyond during the autumn 1988 and released a rehearsal demo called "Birth of the Dead" in the summer 1990. The line-up was Dan Larsson (vocals), Johan Jansson (guitar), John Forsberg (guitar), Tomas Änstgård (bass) and Sonny Svedlund (drums). Beyond played some shows and spread their name until the autumn 1990 when a line-up change took place. Dan and Tomas left the band, which resulted in Johan taking care of both the vocals and guitar and Michael Gunnarsson joining as the new bass player. After this line-up change the band felt it was time for a new beginning and therefore changed their name to Interment.
In February 1991 Interment entered the famous Sunlight Studios in Stockholm to record their first real demo tape, "Where Death Will Increase". The legendary engineer Tomas Skogsberg did a splendid job and the demo was spread around gaining very good reviews and reactions. By the end of the year it was time again for a line-up change. Kennet Englund became the new drummer as Sonny had decided to leave the band. In May 1992 a music video was made for the track "Infestering Flesh". The recording of the clip was a project and collaboration between the local youth centre Musikhuset and the ABF association. Despite a non-existing recording budget and lack of experience the video won a price in a local competition. In June the same year Interment had again booked time at Sunlight Studios in order to nail down the "Forward to the Unknown" demo tape. However due to double-bookings and some other last minute issues the band decided instead to work with engineer Dan Swanö at his Gorysound Studio. The new tracks presented a faster band with an even more down tuned guitar sound.
In 1993 Interment started to fall apart due to various reasons. The band did rehearse occasionally and worked on new material but it was quite clear that the spark was gone. Still, the band finished the new songs by early 1994 and decided to do a last recording, "The Final Chapter". Once again Interment entered Gorysound/Unisound Studios. John couldn't take part in the recording so Johan was solely responsible for the guitar work and as this claimed full concentration, Jens Törnroos was asked to do the vocals. After the recording the band split up and the members continued to concentrate on all their other bands and projects. Johan played in Uncurbed together with Michael and in Moondark - which later became Dellamorte - together with Kennet. Michael, Kennet and Johan were also involved in a grind/gore project called Pyosisfied. John was active in several projects such as Astma and Morgue.
Then in the spring 2002 Johan wanted to unite Interment again for a recording of the old songs but also some new material. The other members were excited so the band started to rehearse again and planned a new release. Some years went by without any action worth mentioning. In March 2006 Mattias "Cryptan" Norrman became the new bassist as Michael had decided to step aside.
Around the same time Interment were offered a deal by US-based Conqueror of Thorn Records who wanted to release some material. The band agreed to release the old demo tapes as a demography CD but also to record some new tracks for a split CD with Funebrarum. During April and May 2006 Interment recorded 5 new tracks at the Black Lounge Studio together with engineer Jonas Kjellgren and these tunes were then released in January 2007 as the "Conjuration of the Sepulchral" split CD. The first show in 15 years took place in Stockholm in January 2007 when Interment shared the stage with Grotesque and Nirvana 2002 at the release party of the now already legendary book "Swedish Death Metal" by Daniel Ekeroth. A few months later Mattias decided to leave the band due to time issues, which resulted in Martin Schulman being recruited as the new bassist. In August 2007 Interment played at the Party San Open Air in Germany, which also was the bands first ever, show abroad. In early 2008 a deal was made with Pulverised Records from Singapore.
Interment did two gigs during 2009. The first was on Thunders Over Miriquidi festival in Germany together with bands like: Death SS, Törr, Minotaur, Tormented, Tribulation, Excruciate etc... The second gig was in December at The Cave in Sundbyberg, Sweden together with Carnal Forge and Scaar. The long waited "Where Death Will Increase" discography CD/LP was finally released Jan/Feb 2010 as collaboration between the US-based labels Morbid Wrath and Necroharmonic Production. In January 2010 Interment entered the Erebus Odora studio and recorded their first full-lenght ever with Peter Bjärgö. The title of the album is "Into The Crypts Of Blasphemy" and was released on CD by Pulverised Records 2nd August in Europe and 31st August in USA. The limited LP version was released by Cyclone Empire in August.
Interment supported Nachtmystium(US) and Jarboe(US) at Musikhuset, Gävle in the beginning of April. Other support bands were In Mourning, Ascend Upon Ashes and Corrosive Carcass. Later same month we played at "Stockholm Metal Walborg" together with Human Desolation, Circle Of Chaos, Scourge, Demonical and Spazmosity. In Nov/Dec we did our very first European tour called "Black Steel Worship" together with Urn (FIN) and Diabolical. Due to some reasons John and Kennet couldn’t join the tour, therefore we have Perra Karlsson (Nominon, ex-In Aeternum etc) filling in behind the drums and Toob Brynedal (ex-Insision, ex-Genocrush Ferox) on the second axe. They did a tremendous job on stage, eternal thanx dudes! It was a killer tour that always will be remembered!!
In 2011 we did some gigs and a bunch of festivals. First one was The Pentagram Fest(ESP) in February then Protzen Open Air(GER) in June, Obscene Extreme(CZE), In Flammen(GER) and Hammer Open Air(FIN) in July and Summer Breeze(GER) in August. We played two times in Stockholm, at KGB in April w/ Repuked and at Debaser w/ Dr Living Dead and Guilty in September. In year 2012 we we're booked for Maryland Deathfest(USA) in May but we have to cancel our appearance due to one members family issues during the time of the fest. In the end of August we played at Kill-town Deathfest in Copenhagen(DK). Other bands on the bill were Sadistic Intent, Corpsessed, Necros Christos, Morbus Chron etc. In the beginning of September we played at Truckstop Alaska in Gothenburg(SWE) with Rust and Dishonourable Discharge. The last gig of the year was with Spasmodic in December at Kings Arms in Falun(SWE).
We decided to let Torbjörn "Toob" Brynedal, who have been live-session guitarist with us since the "Black Steel Worship European Tour" with Urn and Diabolical we did in Nov/Dec 2010 until 2012, to become a permanent member. John Forsberg who has been invisible on stage with us since April 2010, unfortunately didn't have the time with Interment and wanted to spend more time with his family with fully respect. In March 2013 we entered the crypts of Erebus Odora studio again with Peter Bjärgö and recorded four new songs and one oldie for a couple of split EP's. In May the "Into The Crypts Of Blasphemy" was re-released by Black Vomit Records(UK) and in the end of July, three of the recorded songs were released as a split 12" with Brutally Deceased(CZE) by Doomentia Records. In the beginning of August we played at Gamrocken in Ludvika w/ Demonical, Disrupted, Ikon, Tormention etc. A promotional video for the track "Faces Of Death" was released on YouTube made by our friend Costin Chioreanu at Twilight13media.
After 6 years with Interment Martin Schulman decided to leave the band. The reasons were that he was too busy with his mainband Demonical and his booking agency Dreamtide Music so the time for Interment was not enough. Martin’s statement: "I have decided to step down from the bassist position in Interment due to time related issues. In a way it sucks but thinks this is the best solution for all parties. I wish the guys best of luck for the future". Luckily we found an old good friend of us, Allan Lundholm (ex Circle of Chaos, Convulsion & Mortum) who joined us on bass! Interment created a Bandcamp site. The split EP with Brutally Deceased was released on CD by Doomentia Records in early November. Interment played in France for the first time ever at the Wolfthrone Festival in Paris w/ Deströyer 666, Demigod, Disma, Convulse, Dead Congregation among others. It was easily one of our best shows, what a killer support!

NEWS: Paganizer

NEWS:
Paganizer
On the Outskirts of Hades
Transcending Obscurity Records
Release: 1 August 2016
The death metal riff factory known as Rogga Johansson keeps on trucking along doing what he does best: old and groovy death metal in the style of the classics. This time it's Paganizer and the purpose is death metal, and nothing else. Hear the new recording at the link below.
OFFICIAL: Paganizer, the Swedish death metal warmachine, emerge with their latest epic. 'On the Outskirts of Hades' is a testament to the glory of the classic death metal style and its virility. Rogga Johansson and his main band are in best form. This is the most crushing output to come out Sweden in years. It showcases not just the exemplary songwriting skills of this great and experienced band but also its sheer muscle - it eats the newer ones raw and shits them out whole. Paganizer have never sounded better; each song is adrenaline-fused, laden with massive viking axe-hooks, earth-pounding percussion, and topped off with roars echoing down from Valhalla. Along with Affliction Gate's EP, this one will go down as one of the mightiest death metal EPs to be released this year. credits

NEWS: Tyfon's Doom

NEWS:
Tyfon's Doom
Yeth Hound
Gates of Hell Records
Release: 8 July 2016
Tyfon's Doom is neo-New Wave of British Heavy Metal and neo-cult metal music from Finland. The music is old and homemade and filled with the spirit of yesteryear's underground demos and EPs. Of course, this music is a statement of opposition to modern metal's computerized aesthetics. This music is for those that appreciate the old metal and for those that are olde at hearte. This is a one-person and it's not clear that these are real drums or if it is drum programming. Listen to the complete recording below.
OFFICIAL: Gates of Hell (a Cruz Del Sur Music sub-label) will release Yeth Hound, the debut album from Finnish heavy metal entity TYFON’S DOOM on July 8. The album will be released on limited edition CD (500 copies) and vinyl LP (300 copies) formats and includes the band’s 2015 Demo, previously released digitally, as bonus tracks. TYFON’S DOOM is a one-man band that brings to the table an obscure and unpolished style of traditional heavy metal. Tommi Varsala, the man behind this project, was able to capture the original spirit of metal like only a few other bands in today's scene have done so well. While influences such as IRON MAIDEN, MERCYFUL FATE and early METAL CHURCH are apparent, TYFON’S DOOM sounds incredibly fresh and personal. With brilliant songwriting, great guitar work and gritty vocal style, TYFON’S DOOM will bring you back to a time when you were discovering amazing new bands by looking through the metal LPs at your local record store.

NEWS: Heathen Beast

NEWS:
Heathen Beast (India)
Rise of the Saffron Empire
Release Date - April 25th, 2016
Transcending Obscurity Distribution
It appears that Heathen Beast has reached the end. If you have never heard them, below is a link to hear the last material from the extreme metal band. The band is over, the music is not.
OFFICIAL: The time has come for the band to call it a day. Heathen Beast are perhaps the only band from the country playing black metal and employing Indian classical/traditional/folk instruments despite an acerbic content. 'Carvaka Samkhya', the only point of contact, has ended the band under mysterious circumstances and all evidence of their anti-racist government stance has been removed. Whether they have been threatened by unlawful elements is unknown but is a strong probability. The band would want the music to remain alive and here's a last chance at reaching out, hoping that their unique music is heard far and wide.
Heathen Beast, India's leading black metal band, return with yet another scandalous EP containing their strongest material thus far. Delving into the current political scenario in the country, especially the extremist ring-wing agenda of 'Hindutva', this band comprising of anonymous members, feel the need to express themselves using the vicious power of black metal. Traditional instruments are once again employed to give it the topical flavour, from 'Tabla' (Indian drums) and 'Sitar' (Indian stringed instrument) to 'Carnatic violin' (Indian classical instrument) and 'Shankh' (Conch), and the music is charged with a vibe that can be called hair-raising. This is the boldest effort from the whole region, bar none. Heathen Beast may have outdone themselves here, and also put their band members in even more danger with this release. A specially commissioned artwork from legendary US artist Mark Riddick has been made to cover the original band-provided artwork of this release with a slipcase packaging. The original content however remains untouched underneath.
Pseudomyns for reference sake -
Carvaka - Vocals/Guitars
Samkhya - Bass
Mimamsa - Drums
Heathen Beast believes in no god and no religion. We write about the world and it's religion as we see it, we write about how it encompass and controls the masses in our country India. Our music symbolizes self belief and the fact that we choose our own path and make our own destiny. There is no God that writes your life and not everything that is bad in this world is a consequence of that karma. You are responsible. Heathen Beast plays a form of brutal metal to connect with those who think like we do. The Heathen Beast Shall Be Unleashed Upon Thee.
Heathen Beast is the formation of three. Carvaka who believes religion was invented and made up by men, having no divine authority. Samkhya who denies the existence of God. Mimamsa who rejects the notion of God and says that human action itself is enough to create the necessary circumstances for the enjoyment of its fruits.

Greyhaze Records
Release: 16 September 2016
Warfather is Morbid Angel vocalist Steve Tucker's death metal band. The album is not yet available for listening, but there is a new song available to hear now at the link below.

NEWS: The Foreshadowing

NEWS:
The Foreshadowing
Seven Heads Ten Horns
Metal Blade Records / Cyclone Empire
Release: 29 July 2016
The time for the new album by melodic doom band The Foreshadowing (Italy) is almost here. They call themselves "gothic doom." Judging from the sounds of it, "gothic doom" can be understood as melancholic-melodic music played at midtempo. It is not super slow, but there's no effort to play fast, either. The band seeks to avoid the sounds of happiness. They say that they like to sing the sorrow. By the way, the vocals do have singing; it is not growling/screaming. The end result is a very professional/modern recording. Understand that there will be no joy in this music.
OFFICIAL: Founded in 2005 by guitarist and mastermind Alessandro Pace, and later joined by Andrea Chiodetti, Francesco Sosto, Jonah Padella, Marco Benevento and Francesco Giulianelli (the bass player that joined the band in 2011), The Foreshadowing gained popularity in the international gothic doom scene with their three acclaimed albums released between 2007 and 2012: Days of Nothing (2007), Oionos (2010) and Second World (2012). During this time, the band performed at some of the most important festivals in Europe, such as Summer Breeze, Rock Harz, Wave Gotik Treffen, Stoner Hand of Doom, Legacy, Mayday Rock Festival and Summer Darkness - alongside Lacuna Coil, Katatonia, Saturnus, October Tide, Fields of the Nephilim, Tiamat, My Dying Bride and many others.
In January 2013, drummer Giuseppe Orlando (former Novembre, Airlines of Terror) officially joined the band, replacing Jonah Padella, who parted ways with the band for personal reasons. Later that year, The Foreshadowing toured North America for the first time with Moonspell, Marduk, Inquisition and Death Wolf - which only furthered the band's success in the States. After concluding their worldwide touring for Second World, the six-piece started writing their next opus - entitled Seven Heads Ten Horns.
Produced and recorded by The Foreshadowing at Outer Sound Studios, Seven Heads Ten Horns was mixed and mastered at Hertz Studio (Poland) by Sławek and Wojtek Wiesławski and features artwork by Siro Anton (Septicflesh). The nine eerie tracks will take listeners on an abysmal journey from the past to the future of humankind - that promises to once again please fans and critics alike!
The Foreshadowing line-up:
Marco I. Benevento - Vocals
Alessandro Pace - Guitars
Andrea Chiodetti - Guitars
Francesco Sosto - Keyboards & Backing Vocals
Francesco Giulianelli - Bass
Giuseppe Orlando - Drums

This is a thrash band from India. They have new music coming up. Listen to one of the songs at the link below.
OFFICIAL: After Exalter and Armament, Carnage Inc. are the newest thrash metal band on the block and their flair is different. Using local flavour to spice up the sound, this band's music is vibrant, energetic and adrenaline-charged. 'Fury Incarnate' is the band's first foray into the international space and they've got the chops for it, evidently. Each song has its specialty, incorporating influences from punk, crossover and local themes to create an album unlike other, one that's refreshing and not relying too much on the tried-and-tested template. Though undeniably old school, Carnage Inc. breathe new life into the style and show others how it is to be done. Watch out for this band that's bound to leap out and devour the posers.

Containing plenty of what makes Brutal Death Metal "brutal", whether it is the slamming grooves or the blasting mayhem, its also is fast, catchy, and technical, and never boring, making this a stand out brutal death metal album that appeals to a wide audience. Japanese newcomers UROBILINEMIA have more than earned their way to the GH camp. In under 2 years, this technical yet brutal quintet has not only released a split, but also self-released and distributed their first EP in the vast Japanese metal market. Featuring album art by the grotesque loving painter Mei Maro, "Wriggling Chrysalis Of Metaphysical Grudge" was recorded / mixed at Urobilinemia's home studio, and received a revamp mastering touch by Chris Garcia of The Morgue Music Studios (Stages of Decomposition, Bloodscribe, Cranial Engorgement) in Inglewood, CA. This EP will also include 4 demo tracks taken from the bands earlier split with ??? (Ayakasi Kagura).

NEWS: AXEMASTER announces new lead guitarist

Traditional metal band Axemaster (Ohio, U.S.) has made the following announcement.
OFFICIAL:
For the first time in the long history of AXEMASTER, the band would like to announce that they have added a second lead guitarist, Damin Bennett. He has fit in perfectly with the band and is already playing a major role in songwriting by creating unique guitar parts to go along with many of the existing riffs from both the band's new and old material. Damin's debut show is booked for July 29th at the Empire concert club in Akron, Ohio with Axemaster's Pure Steel label-mates Power Theory and Wretch.
Joe Sims said on Damin's addition to the band's roster "it's one of the best things we've ever done as a band, right along with when we decided to add first Geoff and then Denny. Damin is an AMAZING player who's really creative and provides a different and fresh perspective on all the tunes. Also, now that we are splitting all the leads and since his style is pretty different than mine, everything has a lot of extra diversity. Last and most importantly, he's a great guy and total professional who fits in with everyone like he was born to be a part of Axemaster! I hope the fans in the area will come out to our show on the 29th and see all this for themselves!!!"

Rotting
Greyhaze Records
Release: 2 September 2016
This news will be of interest to the supporters of the old, cult extreme metal. The album is not a new one, of course, because the band has been inactive for a long, long time. They went through various style changes, but to many of the fanatics, what really matters is the early phase of the Brazilian band when the music was raw, fast and heavy, like on this recording. Those that are new to the band will be interested in hearing the music to see if they understand why the band attracts the crowds into the old metal. It is time to find out.

NEWS: Dark Forest

NEWS:
Dark Forest
Beyond the Veil
Cruz Del Sur Music
Release: 26 August 2016
The musicians from Dark Forest, traditional heavy/power metal from the U.K., have set their sights on making quality albums each time around. The next chapter in their history will soon be ready for the public to hear. Their style emphasizes both guitar melodies and vocal melodies, and that is all now taken to a bigger level on an album that lasts more than 70 minutes. This publication can testify that the album concentrates on songs. A word of caution: when an album is this long, some people worry that it is an experimental work or an album with a bunch slow songs or just one with boring tracks. Luckily, Dark Forest came here to rock. Now, of course, this band is not the fastest nor heaviest band nor do they pretend to be. It is melodic, traditional heavy metal for singing along, and that's what this new album is. In other words, it is another step in the journey of the band, not a departure from its established style.
Sadly, this publication has not found a place to direct readers to hear a preview of the album nor a new song. Below is the band's ReverbNation link where, if you have never heard the band, you can get a good idea of the sound of the music that they make.
OFFICIAL:England’s finest HM band returns with its best album ever! 70 minutes of grandiose Folk/Medieval-inspired metal! Beyond the Veil represents Dark Forest’s peak of creativity, the zenith of a process begun in 2009 with the release of their self-titled debut album. If their last album The Awakening was a sort of “rite of passage”, then Beyond the Veil is the one of their maturity. The band seems to have found the perfect balance between the classic twin-guitars heavy metal and the elements of folklore, tradition and medieval melodies that have always permeated its sound, making the final production shine as never before. The tie between Dark Forest and the lore of their land is authentic and it’s expressed with a mature and poetic lyrical content. A big credit in this process must be given to Josh Winard (ex Wytch Hazel) whose performance sounds dramatically solid. Not a single second of this glorious album is a filler as Dark Forest have really gave it their all. They have created a winning team with long time artistic producer Ajeet Gill and acclaimed artist Duncan Storr (Skyclad, Rage, Elixir) who enthusiastically got on board with his passionate and amazing work. Beyond the Veil compact disc edition comes with 16-page booklet including more original artwork from Duncan Storr, while the vinyl is released in a luxurious gatefold edition including an A2 poster.

OFFICIAL: Dark Forest was forged in the Black Country, England by guitarist Christian Horton. For over a decade they have been delivering their uniquely rousing, defiant heavy metal to the world. With the release of their self-made EPs in 2007, the band quickly gained the attention and support of the heavy metal underground, both in England and abroad, and then went from strength to strength, gigging across Europe and the UK and releasing their self titled debut album in 2009. The cult EP Defender was released the same year followed by their second album, Dawn of Infinity, in 2011. By this point Dark Forest had succeeded in mastering their own instantly recognisable sound, heavily incorporating traditional twin guitar work, interlaced with subtle medieval and folk melodies. After battling through a series of line up changes Dark Forest then released The Awakening, the band’s third full length album, in 2014. This album was recorded in 444hz, rather than the standard 440hz, the decision being made after studying Solfeggio frequencies and has remained the band’s preferred tuning ever since. 2015 will see Dark Forest once again begin the process of forging new music directly inspired by the nature and mythology of their land and continue to deliver their passionate live performances to fans from around the world.
