Forsaken Age began in 2009 and it looks like they have been playing the bars in their country for years. Now the rest of us outside New Zealand can get our grimy paws on this old-school-all-the-way-to-the-house traditional heavy metal. They wear denim, they wear leather, they bang their heads, and they sing about heavy metal, death, darkness, fire, desire and they want go higher. They have guitar solos, they have the rocking riffs, they shake their metal fists at you trying to get you up from your seat for you to bang your head, and you're going to do it. They want to hypnotize you and get you in the same wavelength. They also hypnotized-kidnapped former Judas Priest singer Ripper Owens and convinced him to come scream on the song "Raven's Cry." From this situation there are two conclusions: (1) Forsaken Age is a heavy-metal-worshipping heavy metal band and good golly Miss Molly if it's not just the medicine that fanatics of classic and cult heavy metal need. (2) This stuff is so catchy and singable that the cra-zy love-it-all fans of the genre will immediately welcome it. With Forsaken Age you know what you're getting, and if you hear heavy metal even in your dreams, then step for-ward.
