Depravity is an Australian band that American total death metal consumers will un-derstand from the get-go: straight ahead heaviness, good riffs, tight drumming, and straightforward intense growling to power up the blood in the veins. The band has a bit of a technical side, but they don’t go out of their way to show it off. Listeners can hear it and feel it, but sheer technicality is not the goal. They don't use lots of melody, alt-hough once the ears get adjusted to the music after a few listens, there is a bit of catchy riffs and even tiny doses of fast melody. Fans should like the commitment to death metal. When the music is this intense, fast, brutal, the fans enter a tunnel where everything goes at a high speed that often launches into big lapses of blasting hypno-sis. In short, the band has solid, headbanging, fun songs, and cool guitar riffs and solos.
