EDEN'S CURSE - Evil & Divine (2015) // official live clip
Formed in 2006, Multinational Melodic Metal band Eden's Curse have risen from their humble beginnings as an internet studio project to a fully blown touring outfit with four studio releases and a double Live Album behind them. During their nine years together they have managed to win over audiences wherever they have played, whilst collecting praise from luminary peers such as legendary Iron Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson and members of Prog Metal giants Dream Theater, who personally invited them to open for them in the UK in 2011.
Boasting a new line up, their latest studio release Symphony Of Sin (2013) was a triumphant return for Eden's Curse after a roller coaster two years. From the highs of being personally invited to open for Prog Metal giants Dream Theater to parting company with their original vocalist, Eden's Curse have shown true tenacity and demonstrated a relentless will to win in the face of adversity.
Fronted by Serbian powerhouse vocalist Nikola Mijic (Alogia, Dreyelands) and MelodicRock.com's 2013 Guitarist of the Year, German virtuoso, Thorsten Koehne (Demon Drive, Attack), the group also featuring founding member and principle songwriter/bassist Paul Logue (Doogie White, David Readman) have also added drummer John Clelland (The Crows, Code Of Silence) and esteemed keyboarder, brain child of Power Quest and formerly Dragonforce, Steve Williams to their ranks. This fresh injection of blood has given the band a much needed shot to the arm and resulted in their most cohesive collection of melodic tunes to date.
The true force of the new line-up is not only realised on record but even more so visually. The guitar histrionics of Koehne are well documented, as there is without doubt he is one of the best players in Rock & Metal right now, but in Mijic the band have unearthed a gem. A singer who can truly sing anything, with emotion and power in equal measure - the front man the band has always craved! This is best demonstrated on the live stage or even in the promo video for the first single from Symphony Of Sin entitled Evil & Divine.
In May 2014 the band undertook their debut headline club tour of the UK in support of the new album Symphony Of Sin. Their seven date run culminated in a spectacular closing show at The Underworld in London, which saw the new line up's fresh impetus transferred to the stage.
The outstanding reviews prompted the bands label, AFM Records, to propose the recording of the groups debut Live Album, which was recorded in Glasgow in November 2014, in front of the bands dedicated fan base. At over 100 mins, 18 songs, covering all four studio records and spanning two CD's, Live With The Curse is the perfect introduction to the music of Eden's Curse. It's sonic dynamite production, by the bands long time engineer, Pink Cream 69 and Unisonic bassist Dennis Ward (Ten, Russell Allen & Jorn Lande, Angra, Krokus) and iconic artwork by another long term collaborator, Thomas Ewerhard (Avantasia, Edguy, Jorn) demonstrate the high quality output we've come to expect from the band.
Released in March via AFM Records and Marquee Avalon (Japan), the band toured Germany & Holland with Freedom Call in support of the new release and will appear at Väsby Rock Festival (Sweden) in July.
Eden's Curse have toured with Dream Theater, Stratovarious, current Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Gus G's band Firewind and Alestorm, plus appearanced at major rock festivals such as Bloodstock Open Air (UK), Hard Rock Hell (UK), Firefest (UK), PPM Fest (BE), Road To Rock (BE), Dokk'em Open Air (NL) and Melodic Rock Fest (US).
Writing is well underway for album number five and it continues to be a busy time for Eden's Curse who are determined to make up for lost time!
