Cult of Yog - new side project from Orator (Washington) guitar magician

Here in the western side of the state of Washington, United States, some local fans have seen the technical-brutal wizardry of Orator. That's a good local band that is both is blazing and skilled at their instruments. Now, out of the blue, it seems, Orator guitarist Matt Stecz appears with his solo project called Cult of Yog doing guitars, bass and vocals, and with fellow Orator partner in metal Elijah Losch taking care of beating the drums. This side project is not technical, but rather a more traditional type of extremity with growling and heaviness with a lot more melody than Orator. It's something less technically proficient than Orator and more accessible, easier to understand on a first listen, something closer to traditional death metal with some black metal guitar work embedded into the proceedings. The vocals are low-growled, the riffs invite you to bang your head and there's a feel-good, fun vibe to the music. If Orator is total American wrist-breaking carpal tunnel technicality, Cult of Yog is European headbanging extreme metal (five tracks in almost 18 minutes).
