out now: Apostle of Solitude - melodic doom from Indiana, U.S.
Here is an important album for fans of traditional, melodic doom. Apostle of Solitude's fifth full-length (six tracks in 36 minutes) sticks to the tradition of the classics by keeping the album at a reasonable duration, and packing it with ear-friendly, melodic, melancholic midpaced doom. New audiences interested in singing within doom may be surprised by the quality of the singing, while the older fans of the band already know the quality of the band. Simplicity and memorability in the songwriting are indispensable for the sound of the band. It is very accessible and with only a couple of listens it all makes sense right quick.
