Cadaveria (Italy): preparing to return

[Cadaveria's vocalist Raffaella Rivarolo, known as Cadaveria, has been recovering from cancer in the last couple of years and today she posted another announcement about their imminent return to music. -Metal Bulletin Zine]

There was a time, not so far, when my body was bloated with cortisone, tired from chemo and sore from ‘growth factors' (injections to raise white blood cells and be able to do chemo in ‘dose dense’, at shorter intervals and without skipping any cycle. the active principle, stimulating the bone marrow, causes severe pain in the sternum and in various other bones of the body).

In those moments you just want to stay in bed with two 1000mg tablets of paracetamol. Instead it was then that I started walking a lot. In the sun, in the fog, in the rain, getting great relief from movement. I felt in love with walking and I promised myself: when I will be ok I will walk to Santiago de Compostela. Well now it is the time.

I departed this morning from the Se of Porto, the main cathedral (where yesterday I got the credential, this small book where to put stamps along the walk), and now I’m 20 km North, on the ocean, watching the sunset.
