review: Revulsion -- in-your-face death metal from Finland

Revulsion was first active in 2005, says Metal Archives, and the first demo came out in 2010: four songs of gore and brutality. A seven-song EP followed in 2011 and two more songs in 2016. All three recordings, which feature a strong execution and a good production, are available for free at their Bandcamp. Here we have the debut full-length album (ten songs in almost 37 minutes). It appears that two of the songs are from 2016. For fans that prefer direct brutality, this Finnish band should be of interest. It’s very accessible, groovy and headbanging. The growling is strong, the music goes into blasting and it has some groovy parts, too, for a balanced approach: fun, brutal, simple death, with no melodies/soloing, and looking for bodies ready to mosh. One more thing that may interest you is the good, clear sound quality of the production. The bass guitar is audi-ble, and the drums sound solid, not soft (we do not know if it’s real drums, or good sampled/replaced drums; we hope for the real thing).
