Finnish death brutes Revulsion streaming three songs from February 2021 self-titled debut full-length

Metal Archives shows that the Finnish band Revulsion did a demo back in 2010 and an EP in 2011. Then they did a single in 2016, and now they are giving death fans a sample of what to expect in 2021 in the form of "Last Echoes of Life," "Pyre," and "Wastelands." Sometimes fans think of Finnish death as being very doomy, or sometimes as being a bit strange and kind of weird like a Finnish inside joke or something, or sometimes as being melodic death metal. All three have been welcomed by the fans all over the world. However, Revulsion is not any of those things. The album might be a surprisingly pleasant work for death metal fans here in the U.S., actually. The vocals are brutal gruff, and nothing else. The music goes at a headbanging pace, in an uptempo way as a general approach, and there is no shortage of blasting going on, while also having some moments that take things down to a midtempo. The riffs are thick, chunky, chugging, muscular and upfront, without trying to be anything else besides death. Fans of straightforward, no-messing-around, no-weirdness, no tech-prog death brutality and mosh pit action will feel at home with this album and this style.
