The Oregon state, U.S. band apparently began as far back as 1979. They did a couple of demos and one EP in the 1980s. It is very likely that only a much older generation of rockers in Oregon remembers the band, if we assume that they did some gigging in the area. As you can imagine in the case of a local band laboring without money and fame, different people joined and left. It looks like by the end of the 1980s, everyone had had enough of the failed rock and roll dream and they called it a day. The situa-tion in 2020 looks like this: The band's singer from 1983 to 1985 named Michael Podrybau seems to have resurrected the name with new and younger crew. The name has been resurrected because the German fans at Keep It True metal festival were the catalyst when the Glacier tribute band Devil in Disguise performed Glacier songs in 2017. Once again, the enthusiasm of the German fans brought an old U.S. name back to life. By the way, for your information, the current band says that the old members have given their blessing to the new Glacier, so apparently there is no bad blood and all that business/soap opera stuff that sometimes happens in these cases.
Be that as it may, let's get to Glacier 2020 music. This album is for the following fans: true metal, traditional heavy metal, classic-style heavy metal, power metal, and melodic heavy metal in general. The singing, the guitar playing, the sound, it’s all good. How-ever, the people that have written these songs have done a very good job of coming up with songs that devoted fans should enjoy immensely. There is something about the songs that works very well. Undoubtedly, the band is working with certain templates of heavy metal and they have the genre written into their DNA. Talk about giving the people what the people want, what the people need. Suffice to say, the German fans are going to eat this music up live like you wouldn’t believe. There is a feeling of Manowar and HammerFall, those big rocking anthem vibes, that makes the fans raise their fists and bang their heads. Again, fans of classic heavy metal should really make the time to check out this album. The level of the quality of the songwriting and the skills is compelling within the genre.
