Northern Crown announce Kickstarter to fund physical release of "In a Pallid Shadow"

"Throughout the history of Northern Crown, we've self-funded 4 high-quality, critically acclaimed releases. However, as we were approaching the release of our new album, In a Pallid Shadow, the realities of the COVID-19 pandemic made us pause on any sort of physical release. Quite a few fans have reached out to us since the launch of the album and have asked us to release In a Pallid Shadow on a physical format, though.

Being in a completely independent band has a lot of pluses and minuses. On the plus side, you generally have complete creative freedom, no label mandated deadlines and you own all your own work.

On the flip-side, the artist bears the risk of funding everything themselves. Music production is time consuming and expensive. The cost of printing merch and pressing physical media can be a huge risk for smaller bands. We've decided to go the route of a Kickstarter campaign to cover the costs of pressing CDs. The album is completed and released. We just need to finalize the CD packaging and press the CDs.

CDs will take approximately 2-3 weeks to press and get shipped to us from the time the campaign. Time to print and ship the posters is very quick. The canvas prints with the higher reward tiers will ship separately from the CDs & posters. Backers that purchase signed items will take a bit longer to get their items.

Additional funds beyond the cost of pressing CDs will help cover the costs of self-producing 4 albums and perhaps have a proper line of merchandise.
