100 Dogmas

100 Dogmas is a Portuguese-language groove metal band from Brazil. Check out their 2019 recording Amaldiçoado Seja below. This is their biography translated from the Portuguese with Google translate.

In February 2018, friends André Luis and Rafhael Jorge met to elaborate a proposal, which would emphasize the styles of Stoner and Groove with the peculiarity of being written in Portuguese. For the 100 Dogmas project, we also have bassist Maycon Souza who was a friend of André and Thiago Alves famous “Chocolate” who was a great friend of the vocal Rafha, they used to play together in the metalcore band “Hopeless Army”.

Musical references practically hover over Groove Metal and Stoner Metal, names like Pantera, Black Label Society, Down and Sepultura are strong influences. The designation 100 Dogmas reflects directly on the group's initial idea, which was to discuss any issues and thereby have the freedom to express their respective opinions. It is clear that it matches very well with the theme presented to the compositions, which are based on a certain character who faces the routine of life and does not let himself be carried away by the frequent obstacles that it offers.

In the same year of creation, we released the 1st EP called “A Pandora's Box”, with four songs, being “Viajante”, “Desconectado”, “Catarse” and “Bury me Smoke (Cover de Down”). In the same period, we released an album Ao Vivo, which included the songs from the 1st EP with an additional track, “Ansiedade” plus some covers.

We are currently promoting our second material, the EP “Amaldiçoado Seja”, which was broadcast on YouTube and on the band's digital platforms. The material was produced, mastered and mixed by André Luís, with graphic design by Bruno Jankauskas and voice capture by Ivan Luchini in the great “Wayne Mansion”. The work has five songs, "Intro", "Genetics", "Anxiety", "Resistance & Emílio Calandra" and "Rancor", to which he emphasizes behavioral issues.
