out June 5: Witches

The day of the new Witches work The Fates is here. In the late 1980s, Metal Archives shows, there was a pretty good flurry of activity once the band got under way in 1986, and they hit the ground with three demos (1988, 1988, 1991) and two in the early 1990s (1991, 1993), and in 1994 they did the debut album 3.4.1 (which, by the way, has a very positive review on Metal Archives). Sibylle Colin-Tocquaine (guitar, vocals) together with Lienj (Desarticulate, ex-Kaemorph…) and Jo 'Sangli' Juré (ex-Disaster, ex-Insain, …) create this brand-new album of Thrash Metal. Their Thrash is not only Thrash. Thrash with lots of Blast and which leaves a little room for breathing and melodies. It also mixes several types of Extreme Metal which gives a varied and very coherent whole. The album is mixed and mastered by HK at Vamacara Studio (Loudblast, Dagoba, Sinsaenum, Black bomb A, Les Tambours du Bronx, and lots more). The Artwork, by Headsplit design, illustrates the song WE ARE, first song of the album, and shows THE FATES that spin, unwind and cut the thread of men's lives. Their loom is made of bloody spears, their comb is a sword, their thread human organs…"
