The Canadian band (est. 1989) in 2020 greets the world with its tenth album, according to Metal Archives (but the press release names even more works, actually). Whatever the case may be, one thing seems rather clear, they are known as devoted to their cause, and have done more than 1500 concerts. If you have not heard this band, the fundamental fact to know is that this album is a dream for the fanatics that consider thrash amongst their most favorite genres. The new album is apparently the first that they have done entirely (or almost entirely) in Spanish, although they have lots of songs in French (they are based in Quebec) and English.
Anyway, so thrash fans should be interested in this band. So what kind of thrash is this? As you have noticed above, this is a veteran act, and they sound like it. The guitar tone is basically perfect for the style: robust, sharp, fast and upfront. It is also a direct, headbanging style, with that immediate impact that thrash fans like. The sound quality is rather clear and friendly to the thrash ear, especially the clear, pro-level sound. The vocals are the quintessential loud, intelligible shout; it’s not growling, but more like in the style of Metallica-Slayer. This band also loves the gang shouts, the mosh pit riffs and speed.
If you know someone who believes that thrash is the best style in the universe, and they listen to lots of thrash, then you have one new item for your summer shopping list; a gift for that special thrasher in your life or a gift for yourself or both of you. The production is good, the songwriting is good, and the delivery is professional. It has to be good news to hear a band so fluent in thrash, right? Where is the nearest mosh pit?!
