Rock and roll, according to the book of Defecal de Gerbe, is supposed to be fun. Elvis was fun. The Beach Boys were a lot of fun. The Beatles, too. What happened to rock and roll, friend?! That is precisely the urgent question that this band has sought to answer every day of its existence. It is a philosophical dilemma; a quandary that only one band in the world would be able to answer, and it is Defecal de Gerbe.

Roll over Beethoven, and tell Tchaikovsky the news that Defecal de Gerbe has arrived and with it, the good times again. Gargling vocals, pig squeals, and big-wild-bear growling and other farm animal noises comprise the style of these gentlemen of great fastidious taste. The guitars chug and thrash to the key of whatever, and the blasting goes with the rhythm of doubleyouteeeff. The rocking fun of goregrind is the flame of this no-shame.

With titles like “Boogie Woogie Dancing Truie,” “Abbath Loves Friskies,” and “I’m Your Boogie Touffe,” this music is highly inappropriate for just about any occasion that involves any other human being near you. People might call the police on you for listening to this cacophony in public. You may think that that is a joke, but it might not be so funny when someone with children sees you at the park or on the bus scrolling down through the titles, and you end up in prison for violating the laws of indecency in your fantastic country, whichever one it might be in which you live.

The songs are short, and the fun is long. The music is sick and so are you. A match made in heaven, like eHarmony for goregrind lovers. Shout it from the rooftops, “At last my love has come along.” You will never be lonely again. You, and Defecal de Gerbe and goregrind. You have finally found your true friends, friend.
