NEWS: KING PARROT: Australian Grind Unit Return To North America On Tour With Voivod
Australia's favorite grind bringers, KING PARROT, will return to North America next month supporting Voivod on a month-long live takeover! The band's latest infiltration will commence on May 19th in Dallas, Texas and run through June 26th in Quebec City, Quebec. Additional support will be provided by labelmates, Child Bite. The band will also play a host of one off shows with Child Bite and Psycroptic on select dates. See all confirmed dates below.
Comments vocalist Matt "Youngy" Young, "It's been a busy year for KING PARROT so far and we're excited to be coming back to North America for what is shaping up to be a massive tour with metal legends Voivod and our dear friends and fellow nutters, Child Bite. I love what this tour package offers: it's one of the most diverse lineups I've seen in recent times, and I know all three bands are in great form right now. We are currently touring in Australia, and previous to that we just got back from Europe with Soulfly where we performed thirty-six shows over six weeks in eighteen countries. Obviously we love being out on the road and when the opportunity to tour with childhood hero's Voivod came about, then we couldn't pass it up. We're looking forward to seeing all our friends out on the road in the US and Canada real soon!"
KING PARROT draws influence from the thrash, grind, hardcore and punk scenes of the '80s and '90s and has pillaged its way to international recognition since their inception in 2010. The band continues to tour in support of their latest full-length, Dead Set, released in North America via Housecore Records last year. Captured by Philip H. Anselmo and Michael Thompson with Steve Berrigan at the infamous Nodferatu's Lair (Down, Eyehategod, Superjoint Ritual et al) in Louisiana, KING PARROT's Dead Set crushes the weak with ten grind-laden, punk-infused odes of defiant audio savagery bedecked in the dark, cynical humor for which the band has become notorious.
