VREDEHAMMER - We Are The Sacrifice (Official)
Vredehammer Biography:
5 years have passed since the birth of Vredehammer, and this is celebrated by the release of their first full-length album "Vinteroffer"! A release that has earned them a place in the impressive roster of Indie Recordings.
With three impressive EP-releases, Vredehammer has with their combination of aggressive guitars and Norse melodies, already started to gain a fanbase among the metalheads around the world. Now the time has come to take a leap into a bigger arena as they present “Vinteroffer”, a release unveiling a new dimension in their music as well as serving you with their signature Vredehammer-elements.
Front man Per Valla comments: "We`ve been doing this for a while now, both in Vredehammer and previous band projects. I think it`s time we crawl out of the underground and start showing the world that we actually exist. Vinteroffer is a release that will help us in doing this."
With the new band members, a spark was lit and it has now turned into roaring flames. This resulting in the making of an album that is simply more extreme and musically interesting than the previous Vredehammer-releases.
From 2009 to 2013 the band was a one man outfit and released the EP`s "4.september" and "Pans Skygge". In May 2013 bass player Kristoffer Hansen joined the band and "Mintaka" was released. However, the big change for Vredehammer came when Cato Skivik joined the band as their new drummer. This finally enabling the band to start doing live shows.
The previous EP releases are a good reference to what the band’s music is about, but with “Vinteroffer”, the band embarks on a new cycle in their career. Bigger sound, a broader approach to songwriting and a more in depth study of the untouched elements in their genre.
Vinteroffer was written in the first half of 2013, and was recorded in the bands hometown Mo i Rana in the summer the same year. The album was mixed and mastered in Denmark at Jacob Hansen Studios. The band was familiar with Jacobs skills from earlier projects and knew he was the man for the job. A powerful and wide sound is what they wanted, and that`s exactly what they got, resulting in the heaviest sounding Vredehammer-release so far.
