These Germans are a great example of a band coming from out of the blue and making you sit up and take notice. The band name does not tell you much, but then the music begins and the traditional heavy metal kicks into high gear. Quickly, the band answers the question that I want to know: Do they have a real singer?! Traditional heavy metal is not much fun is the singer cannot sing. Well, no worries, no worries at all! Once that gets established, things are well underway. Guitar harmonies, guitar solos, riffs, melodies and headbanging rhythms, it’s all Blackslash, classic-style heavy metal from a new generation of bangers. The founders of heavy metal may be dying off and soon they won’t be around anymore, but a band like Blackslash shows clearly that classic heavy metal is in the good hands of the younger generation that has sworn allegiance to the genre.

If you would to hear a new band that emphasizes quality traditional heavy metal, this is the band’s debut, so they are just getting warmed up. Get on this heavy metal train if you want to celebrate the original heavy metal as practiced by the founders. The band even has the nerve to do a power ballad. It is called “Made of Steel” and they knock it out of the park, way out of the park.

They can officially do everything. Fast to slow to fast, it doesn’t matter for the band. They can do it all in traditional heavy metal.

This is an album that I have been listening to a lot this past week. Recommended!
