Some people say that Born of Fire reminds them of Fates Warning. To me, Born of Fire and recent Queensryche have some things in common, such as the general style that moves between heavy metal and prog, and the emphasis of skillful, creative songs.

Born of Fire sounds like high IQ metal, but it's not so abstract that it takes 20 listens. With two listens you can get an idea of the band's balancing act between rocking and more introspective moments.
