Below there are links to hear the music of 1833 AD. This text below is the band's own description of itself.
1833 AD have been the pioneers of Black Metal music in India. Formed in 2004, the bands popularity amongst Indian metal fans has increased manifold and have received rave reviews from the metal press as well as well-known Black Metal artist Nocturno Culto (guitarist/vocalist of Darkthrone) and George Kolias (drummer for Nile). The band has been performing live consistently and did an “End of Time” tour spanning 5 cities all across India (Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Jalandhar, New Delhi and Mumbai) in 2010. The band has headlined some of the biggest Black Metal events of the Indian subcontinent such as Black Mass Festival in Colombo, Sri Lanka and Black Metal Krieg in Mumbai. The year 2012 saw the band release their highly awaited monumental album My Dark Symphony, a concept album containing 3 chapters based on the Indian Mythology of the Creator (Brahma), Preserver (Vishnu) and the Destroyer (Shiva), on the 16th of June, 2012 while playing at the first chapter of Wacken Open Air festival in India called as Bangalore Open Air. This marked the birth of Black Metal in India and marked the bands breakthrough into International territories. 2012 was a strong year for 1833 AD with another major festival appearance at NEPFEST in Kathmandu, Nepal alongside Nervecell (Dubai) and the legendary Polish metallers, Decapitated. The year 2013 saw 1833 AD going from strength to strength with their album getting rave reviews from both the local as well as International press as well as a number of awards (Rolling Stone Metal awards, Radio City Freedom awards) for their intricate album artwork which is an integral part of the album designed by the famed Ruben Bhattacharya (Visual Amnesia). 1833 AD is currently supported by Gibson Guitars, Warwick bass, Grover Allman plectrums and Vic Firth drum sticks.
