The death metal force Dehuman (Belgium) has announced that in December they will tour Europe with death metal veteran act Sadistic Intent from California, U.S: "This is it you MANIAXS we are proud to unleash the complete set of dates of the DEHUMAN and SADISTIC INTENT Death is coming to Europe Tour. SADISTIC INTENT announced earlier this week, that this tour might be one of the last times to catch this legendary band live! Obscure Oracle

OFFICIAL: The sound of Obscure Oracle is a one of a kind sound from brutal vocals to haunting clean vocals, it’s a full on attack on the brain to try and figure out where the song goes next and each song is very different. Songs range from a very progressive sound to full on black metal and everything in between. The band was formed by friends getting to together and using all of our many influences, styles and just having fun doing what we love, jamming together.

The concept of Obscure Oracle was formed years ago in the mind of Danny David and has now become a reality. Forming Obscure Oracle was a challenge in the beginning by finding the right members to understand the complex guitar riffs. Obscure Oracle was officially formed in the summer of 2011, but before this came together, the riffs came in bits and pieces in recent years.

Guitarist, Danny David, former member and song writer of Demonstruction, guitarist for Death Rites 666 and Escaping the Flesh created the originality of Obscure Oracle. He combined his influences of different genres of music; including "progressive metal", "black metal”,"old school thrash punk" and a twist of "death metal" to create this music style.

Vocalist, Rusty Bartholomeo, was called upon as lead vocalist and to write the lyrical content; having worked with Danny David previously in Escaping the Flesh, both were influenced by similar musical styles and views which helped form Obscure Oracle's unique sound.

Obscure Oracle is on a path of no return and on a mission to see the world in the years to come. Our passion speaks through the music itself through a dynamic view of one self at life. Our intention is to open the minds of individuals to see the world through our eyes as we conjure the musical influences that drive this band to pursue the meaning and purpose of our existence.

Treedeon

Here is a band for the doom sludge fanatics. Treedeon is based in Berlin, Germany and the band was founded in 2012, but there is more to the story here. The members come from other acts, and people into punk maybe aware of the well-known band Jingo de Lunch, which was active in the 80s, 90s and until 2012, with some pauses in between. Treedeon is a totally different beast, though. It's not punk. It's a heavy rock doom sludge type of music that concentrates on loud, slower volume to convince the listener. Anyway, the band is: Arne Heesch (voc/guit); Yvonne Ducksworth (voc/bass); Andy Alphatrip (drums).

BIO: In what has become an over 15 years history of Exile On Mainstream we have seen a lot happening when it comes to bands becoming a part of the family and history of this label this – from the somehow traditional way of listening to a demo, seeing the band playing live, being a longtime fan to establishing a friendship first and later getting hooked on what their musical approach and output is.

The signing of Treedeon now marks walking this path full circle and simultaneously adds a new, almost holistic way of incorporating a band in the Exile On Mainstream roster as we had the fortune of watching a band finding themselves, trying out different ways and approaches to finding their sound and observing their progressions. It was stunning to see how the threepiece became what they are now: one of Europes most staggering outfits to lay pure emotional heavyness in sound and attitude over your maltreated souls. But let’s start from the beginning and tell the tale of Treedeons creation:

After the almost simultaneous demise of Germany’s Noise-stalwarts ULME and the 2nd spring of seminal Crossover punk/metal icons JINGO DE LUNCH, Ulme-guitarist and singer Arne and Jingo de Lunch singer Yvonne formed an acoustic bit named Treedeon. The founding of Treedeon was a result from Exile On Mainstream’s invitation for Arne to play an acoustic solo set on the 2012 (and final) edition of the SOUTH OF MAINSTREAM FESTIVAL after Ulme had been booked but disbanded right before the festival. In turn Arne asked Yvonne to accompany and both played an intimate acoustic set as a twopiece not being sure if it would remain a one-off. Shortly after a 2nd gig was booked at Berlin’s Schokoladen where KAENG-shell punisher Boomer pledged himself for being the missing link and offering to play drums.

The usual followed. Songs were layed out, written and rehearsed in a dark cellar using Exile On Mainstreams equipment with Yvonne learning to play bass proper. A demo was recorded in November 2013 at Ossi’s Freitonkombinat Kreuzberg and unleashed to astonished fans making clear that the acoustic approach of the first giggery was snowballed by a new, but somehow expected monstrous Valkyrie of sheer heavyness, duelling vocals and screams in emotional terror.

A much louder Treedeon played a first show in their local hangout ‘Franken Bar’ in Berlin. Their second show brought them to the infamous ROADBURN FESTIVAL, as part of Exile On Mainstream’s 15 years anniversary showcase. And what an impression they left! The digitally released demo began rolling around among dedicated punters and created quite a buzz for the band, culminating in an invitation to play the STONED FROM THE UNDERGROUND FESTIVAL in July 2014.

From this gig on, the band found themselves on the map for lovers of Noise, Sludge, and all kinds of heavy pumping riffage, combined with an emotional approach and intimate lyrics.

Consequently, recording an album was due, which put the band in STUDIO WONG Berlin throughout November 2014.

High School Massacre

The grind band High School Massacre (Brazil) hit the ground running in 2016. The EP is called Alienation and it is five songs in six minutes. Listen to the EP at the link below.

OFFICIAL: Headquartered in the city of Curitiba, the grinders of the band High School Massacre began their activities in mid-2011. After a brief period composing and arranging the songs, comes the launch of their first self-titled work, little publicized, released independently. After some changes in its formation the quartet joins forces returns the activities in 2015, participating in several concerts and festivals within the underground scene. Veterans of the extreme music scene, the quartet enters the studio in late 2015 to record the EP entitled Alienation.

Hirax

Time flies! This year the Hirax vocalist screamer extraordinaire, Katon W. De Pena, turned 53 years young. Formed around 1984, the band has one of the most recognizable voices in all of thrash. In the last few years the band has bee touring and recording. The album Immortal Legacy is from 2014 and in 2015 there was West-East Thrashaholic Beat Up. It's always a good time for Hirax music!

This is a brief history of the band, according to Wikipedia: "Hirax is an American thrash metal band from Cypress, California. Starting in 1984 under the leadership of vocalist Katon W. De Pena (the band's only original member of the current line-up), the band played in Los Angeles and San Francisco with the other new thrash metal bands of the area such as Metallica, Exodus, and Slayer. The band was an early example of thrash metal, speed metal and crossover thrash.

After releasing some demos, Hirax signed with Metal Blade and debuted with their first full-length, Raging Violence in 1985.The band was composed of Katon W. De Pena (vocals), Scott Owen (guitar), Gary Monardo (bass) and John Tabares (drums).

In 1986, John Tabares left the band and Eric Brecht (brother of D.R.I.'s vocalist Kurt Brecht) joined. After the change, they released their second album, called Hate, Fear and Power under pressure of the label (only having 16 minutes of length for 8 songs). After this release, the band quit the label and independently released a demo called Blasted In Bangkok in 1987.

But with tensions and disillusions in the band, De Pena decided to leave and form a new band with Gene Hoglan (former Dark Angel drummer), and Ron McGovney (former Metallica bassist). They called themselves Phantasm and released a six tracks demo in 1988 (re-issued in 2002 as a CD with the demo and live tracks). After a brief tour with Nuclear Assault, they broke up. In 1989, after De Pena left, the replacement was Paul Baloff (former Exodus frontman). But soon after the band broke up.

De Pena stayed involved in the regional underground music scene and took a job working at a local music store. In 1997, he featured one of his old songs on a split 7" with Spazz, the band of one of his friends. By 1998 De Pena had received enough fan mail and interest which encouraged him to reunite Hirax in 2000. De Pena reunited the band with the original lineup of Scott Owen, Gary Monardo, and John Tabares, releasing the El Diablo Negro EP in 2000. In 2002, the band played in Abrasive Rock Fest. In 2003, the band played in Bang Your Head Festival, in Germany. The lineup completely changed, and Hirax released the album Barrage of Noise in 2001 with James Joseph Hubler, Justin Lent (Clusterfux), and Nick Sellinger. This line-up was brief as well.

In 2003, De Pena recruited an entirely new lineup again, and released the album The New Age of Terror in 2004 with guitarists Dave Watson and Glenn Rogers (Deliverance former), bassist Angelo Espino, and drummer Jorge Iacobellis. That line-up, due to irreconcilable differences, followed in the trend of the other line-ups and broke up. The band released their fourth studio album El Rostro de la Muerte in the spring of 2009. On July 20, 2013 Hirax performed at the International Festival Convivencia Rock 2013 that took place in Pereira, Risaralda. 36 bands played in the 3 days festival and 10.000 people gathered each day of the event. On February 24, 2014, the band released their newest album titled Immortal Legacy, courtesy of Steamhammer Records.

March 2015 will see the band play in the UK for the first time in their history, beginning with an appearance at Hammerfest in Gwynedd, Wales."

Criminal Element

Criminal Element is an extreme metal band from the U.S. You may be interested to know that it features two members of Suffocation: Derek Boyer and Terrance Hobbs. The lineup is completed by Vince Matthews and Maliq Emanuel. Vince Matthews is probably best known for his past work with Dying Fetus. It's not clear if it's meant to be a touring band or more of a project. In any case, this is not a new entity, actually. Metal Archives provides the following discography below. I am having problems finding much music on the Facebook or Soundcloud pages. They do have a link for ordering one of their albums, but the link seems to be inactive. Given this situation, and even though bands do not like this sort of thing, below you will find their most recent album in its entirety because someone posted it on YouTube. Due to the associations with Suffocation and Dying Fetus, it's reasonable that people may want to hear Criminal Element. At any rate, as you will be able to tell, this is upfront, no-nonsense headbanging metal, as you would totally expect, but the particular sound is not what some people would have guessed: there is quite a bit of thrashing riffs going on, making it music for immediate impact!

NEWS: Verminlord statement

The Washington state black metal solo project Verminlord, which in 2016 has issued to two recordings: Verminlord and Anguish, has posted a statement to explain more the "atmospheric depressive black metal with blackened hymns from the darkness" music. Both recordings are in the category of "name your price" at Bandcamp and they are also available for listening there. People that support black metal solo projects might be interested in this music.

OFFICIAL: Vermin Lord is a Seattle-based solo black metal project mixing gloomy atmospheric guitars with pungent throat screeching and driving blackened riffs over crushing drums.

After seeing a particularly bad performance of black metal, life-long black metal enthusiast, Vermin Lord (Teo Acosta) decided it was time to crawl out of the Cascadian darkness into the bleak morning light. He intends to spread his own personal plague of wizard knowledge, evil guitars and acceptance.

Vermin Lord is an exploration of depression, rage, and anxiety. Sifting through the ashes of each song you will find personal loss, frustration with society, and life-long depression. Often the songs are written & recorded during times of despair or fury. Imperfections are intentionally left in final production to further illustrate the emotional state when each song was written. Nothing in life is clean, nothing in life is perfect.

While the lyrical content and guitar-work paint a dark vision of evil wizards, demonology, and vile knowledge. Vermin Lord is vehemently anti-NSBM/neo-nazi/white supremacy or any form of hate/discrimination.

They have a demo from 2014 and their debut Storming Heaven is also from 2014, which was followed up by an EP in 2015. Not only were they a promising band, they were already stacking up their credentials and reputation, proving that they were not a flash in the pan that would be lost and forgotten in a couple of years. Steel Inferno is a traditional-minded metal band based in Denmark. They have been making the rounds for several years, but now in 2016 they have their debut ready to run. The black thrash band Ravencult (Greece; 2001) has a new 2016 album called Force of Profanation on Metal Blade Records. In about 33 minutes these Greeks advance on the front of the classic extreme metal values that they are proposing. Their objective is to make fast, blasting tight-riffed, sharp songs based on the idea that black metal, death metal and thrash metal can unite in one sound because this was once all one musical form and it can be again. OFFICIAL: Originating from Athens, Greece, Ravencult was spawned to revive the relentless side of black/thrash metal, bringing forth an unpolished, organic sound to manifest their morbid darkness.

The classic thrash act Infernäl Mäjesty (Canada) have given their supporters a bit of a taste of what they are planning. Below you can listen to the 2016 song and learn more about the band's history.

OFFICIAL: Originally going by the name Lord Satans Deciples then Overlord, Toronto thrashers Infernal Majesty formed in 1986 and featured vocalist Chris Bailey, guitarists Kenny Hallman and Steve Terror, bassist Psycopath, and drummer Rick Nemes. A four-song demo was duly recorded and circulated to specialized magazines, eventually finding its way to Roadrunner Records, which chose to sign the band and issued their None Shall Defy debut in 1987. Full Bio: In the city of Toronto, in the year 1986, Rick Nemes (drums), Psycopath (bass), Kenny Hallman (guitar), Steve Terror (guitar) and Chris Bailey joined forces and created the thrash band Infernal Majesty.

Infernal Majesty's main objective was to write an album of complex and exciting thrash tunes, to unleash onto the ever-evolving thrash market. In order to begin this process, they recorded a 24-track four-song demo at Metal Works studios in Toronto (owned by members of the band Triumph).

With the demo tape completed, copies were sent out through various channels, and a record deal was signed with Roadrunner Records in New York City. The amazing thing about the signing was, Infernal Majesty had never sent a copy of the demo to Roadrunner - a magazine in Europe had sent one to them with a recommendation to sign the band.

In September 1987, the worldwide release of the now cult classic, 'None Shall Defy' was launched. The album included such cuts as "Overlord" which was the code name for the Normandy invasion, "Anthology of Death" about the notorious Jack the Ripper, and "Night of the Living Dead" which was inspired by the march of the zombies scene in the classic horror film of the same name. The title track "None Shall Defy" became the band's first video. They received very promising reviews from leading magazines such as Metal Hammer, Aardschok and Kerrang. Displeased Records lists Infernal Majesty along with Venom, Bathory, Hellhammer, Kreator and Death as one of the main influences on the death/black metal music scene. Fan mail from distant locations such as Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Brazil, China and New Zealand demonstrated the magnitude of the expanding thrash market.

In 1988, Rick Nemes and Psycopath left Infernal Majesty and shortly after were replaced by Kevin Harrison (drums) and Bob Quelch (bassist). With the new line-up, Infernal Majesty's next step was to record a 2-song demo for a new album at Wellesley studios in Toronto. The tape 'Nigresent Dissolution' was completed. It remained unheard by most listeners as the tape was not made available to the public until Displeased Records added the two tracks "Into the Unknown" and "Hell on Earth" to the CD release of 'None Shall Defy'. A third, 4-song demo was completed with a local producer. With the help of Brian Taylor (famous for his work with Sacrifice), 'Creation of Chaos' was completed with new vocalist Vince, as Chris Bailey had left the band. 'Creation of Chaos' was sold by mail order and distributed by Cargo Records to listeners around the world. Infernal Majesty went on to play seIect shows with Razor, Kreator, Coroner, Death Angel, etc. Infernal Majesty's cult status was solidified with the masterful cover of their ultimate thrash classic "Night of the Living Dead" by Sweden's Dawn. Other bands such as Christ Denied from Spain, Illdisposed and Goddess Of Desire have recorded or played songs by Infernal Majesty. Imitation is the ultimate form of flattery which proves true with reports of bootlegged CDs, live videos, T-shirts and posters.

With the re-release of 'None Shall Defy' on CD, Infernal Majesty schedule a summer tour in Europe with original vocalist Chris Bailey. In late March of 1997, a sample of new material was recorded and produced by the band and added to a compilation CD. The CD entitled 'Kanada Compilation' was released in limited quanities. Infernal Majesty contributed 2 songs, "Where Is Your God" and "Gone the Way of All Flesh" which are shortened versions of new songs for their upcoming album. With the re-release of 'None Shall Defy' on CD, Infernal Majesty toured Europe with original vocalist Chris Bailey and newly acquired bass player Chay McMullen. The tour, consisting of Malevolent Creation, Infernal Majesty, Vader and Vital Remains, was considered by many as the highlight of the summer. With record interest wide-spread the band returned home to sign a new record deal. January 1998, Infernal Majesty signed with Hypnotic Records who have been signing Canadian bands for some time, already have Voivod, Razor, Anvil and Mundane as part of their roster.

The CD entitled 'Unholier Than Thou' was released on August 15, 1998. A European tour with Cannibal Corpse and Dark Funeral followed in September 1998 and was a great success. April 2000 saw the release of the 'Chaos in Copenhagen' CD showcasing Infernal Majesty live. April 2001 Hypnotic Records along with Big Daddy re-released 'Unholier Than Thou' in the USA; this CD release was remixed and remastered and included a live version of "Night of the Living Dead".

In May 2001 Kris Deboer and Eric Dubreuil became the newest members of Infernal Majesty. 2003 and work had begun on the newest Infernal Majesty CD 'One Who Points to Death', which was recorded in Vancouver B.C.

In early 2004 Infernal Majesty signed with Galy Records for 'One Who Points to Death' which was released on April 6th, 2004. Later, in June 2004, the band signed with the Greek label Black Lotus Records for the European distribution of 'One Who Points to Death'.

In 2015 an official press release and an announcement from the Infernal Majesty Official Facebook Page revealed that for the past few years Chris Bailey had returned to the band and began work on their next opus NO GOD to be released 2016.

Fetid Zombie mainman Mark Riddick is known for an obsession with inverted crosses and the name Fetid Zombie might fool you into thinking this is garage-level metal music about zombies, graves, horror movies and inverted crosses. Well, the man does like his inverted crosses and likes to take pictures near them or holding them and the lyrics are obsessed with death, but if you listen to the music, to the actual music, you will get a big shock. It is not two-chord death metal. There is melody and there is lots that is catchy, too, but without sounding weak, clitchéd, trendy or emo. It takes Fetid Zombie to show how melody and atmosphere are possible without sounding like hipsters. You have to hear this music, I tell ya! It is not what you are expecting and it is way better than you are hoping.

OFFICIAL: Four years after „This Harmonic Consonance“ the unique LANFEAR come up with their new album „The Code Inherited“. Once again they mix their Metal with lots of power and melody. OFFICIAL: For more than fifteen years SACRED STEEL have been offering the metalhead a deadly trend-free alternative to blown-up trigger drums, cheesy keyboards and boring cliché sounds which are hyped to be „the next big thing in metal“ year after year. Already with their debut album „Reborn In Steel“ (first ever German band being signed to Metal Blade Records in 1997) the band followed their path, never forgot their roots and emerged their sound.

The 2nd album „Wargods Of Metal“ was recorded in 1998 with legendary producer Bill Metoyer (a.o. Slayer, Omen, Sacred Reich) and enjoys a cult status with the metal fans since then.

In the year 2000, releasing their third strike “Bloodlust” the band proved its ability to write more matured songs and combining them in an epical concept story.

In addition the band acclaimed a high number of fans by intensive touring through all of Europe, playing with bands like Nevermore, Wardog, Lefay, Destiny’s End, Nocturnal Rites, Children of Bodom and Primal Fear and appearing on Festivals as Wacken, Bang Your Head or Summer Breeze.

The opener and title track of the following album “Slaughter Prophecy” (2002), a brutal metal slasher, could only have one meaning: a clear and definite statement against a wimpy power metal genre with many bands getting lost in orchestral keyboard sounds, boring melody hooks, programmed computer drums and happy metal. Where other bands wimped out the sledgehammer still reigned at the SACRED STEEL camp. They weren’t even afraid to include death metal elements in their sound following some of their faves as Morbid Angel or Death. The result was an ultra-heavy dark and raw piece of hate being released with great success by their new label Massacre Records.

They followed this path, although a little more melodic on album no. 5 “Iron Blessings”, which was released in 2004 and got the best reviews in the bands history.

After five studio albums it was time to catch the raw intensity of the SACRED STEEL live shows. The Live DVD/double-CD “Live Blessings” shows a raw, authentic beer and sweat driven show in their hometown Ludwigsburg. This was one of the last gigs of the old line up, which has not been changed on all albums so far.

In 2006 Bassist Jens changed to the guitar and new members Jonas Khalil as new guitarist and Kai Schindelar on bass could be added within a short time. The first result of this new line up, “Hammer of Destruction”, was released 2006 and is screaming to be worshipped. Following a vinyl-sound intro the infernal title track hammers down everything. The massive and organic sound was done by German producer-legend Harris Johns, who recorded a lot of the bands favourites like Saint Vitus, Voivod, Kreator, early Helloween or Tankard and is known for his authentic 80’s sound. The high-speed smasher “Maniacs of Speed” was chosen for the band’s first ever video clip.

In 2009 ”Carnage Victory” finally found its way to the battlefields of the metal community and was supported by another massive live offensive bringing the band for the first time to countries like Croatia, Serbia or Slovenia and back to important Festivals like Rock Hard Festival or Bang Your Head, Swordbrothers, Thrash Assault or Summer Breeze.

After that the respectable fanbase of SACRED STEEL had to wait for more than three long years but finally the band joined forces with Cruz Del Sur Music to release their 8th studio album “The Bloodshed Summoning” in 2013. Recorded in Poland and produced by the band together with Bart Gabriel this latest work offers everything that old or new SACRED STEEL fans desire: heavy riffs and aggressive but catchy metal hymns.

Blaspheme Rites: free black thrash from Mexico

This recording is free/name your price. Blaspheme Rites is from Mexico City and they are a new band. This is their 14-minute debut demo with four songs. The band sounds very promising and they have been learning from the masters. Blaspheme Rites is big on headbanging riffs that you can understand immediately and instantly convince you. The sound quality is good, too, no problems there. They also like to do real guitar solos, which is a huge plus. In short, this demo is awesome! NEWS: Solitude: heavy metal from Japan

Solitude is a heavy metal band from Japan with an upcoming release on Test Your Metal Records: Beneath the Sky for November 25, 2016. This album will be of interest to those searching for guitars into riffmania and solos. The band began in 1996 and they have dedicated this band to heavy metal and as you can hear below, they are pros at it. Denim, leather, and heavy metal stole their souls and now they will never escape and only want you to join their crusade. How can you refuse?!

OFFICIAL: Japan’s SOLITUDE was formed in 1996, when two ex-members of SACRIFICE (Japan)*, the founding member and main composer Akira Sugiuchi and the bass player on two of their albums Toru Nishida, met ex-RIP RIDE guys of Yasuo Koyano and Hiroki Nakamori. The guys kept on rehearsing for as long as 3 years, composing songs and forging the foundation of the band. With Heavy Metal as its core, their sound has tastes of various music as if to show that they have been influenced by various different styles of music, such as 70’s Hard Rock, Progressive Rock, and most notably NWOBHM, among others. In 1998, they picked up “SOLITUDE” as the name of the band, and they played live for the first time in March 1999. This debut live was reported through fanzines and the internet, with such praises as “the birth of the new Defenders of Heavy Metal” or “the answer to what Heavy Metal is”. In September, Shingo Ida (ex-BARTOLOMMEO) replaced Nakamori, and his distinctive style of melodic guitars has brought a new blood into the band. In November, they recorded two songs, “Virtual Image” and “Eagle Fly”, latter of which was dedicated to their favorite British Heavy Metal band, SAXON. This recording was used for promotion as “SOLITUDE Demo ’99”.

In July 2000, the band started recording an album, and the recording carried on until December as the band aimed at the highest quality they could achieve. Their debut album “Virtual Image” was finally released on 5th of September, 2001 as the first-ever release of SPIRITUAL BEAST, who would later grow to one of the leading independent Heavy Metal labels in Japan. The album got rave reviews from the underground fanzines and webzines, not just in Japan but in the US and throughout Europe, and requests for interviews flooded in. The reaction was especially overwhelming in Germany, owing to the sampler CD called “Metal Crusade” from “Heavy oder was!?” magazine, which featured the title track “Virtual Image”. Koyano left the band prior to the release of the album, but the band continued touring with the help from Suguru Kobayashi (ex-CASBAH), sharing the stage with various bands from OUTRAGE, RAGING FURY or METALUCIFER to DEFILED and SIGH. In July 2003, having added Tai Syouda (ex-GUARDIAN’S NAIL, now leading his own band, SEVENTH SON) as a permanent drummer, they flew to Germany to play at “Headbangers Open Air”, where they shared the stage with veterans like BLITZKRIEG, TRESPASS, and KILLER (Belgium) as well as youngsters like STORMWARRIOR, CRYONIC TEMPLE and DOOMSWORD. Their performance was praised by various media, with German “Rock Hard” magazine describing them as “the highlight of the festival”. The fact that many metalheads kept on chanting for SOLITUDE for a while after they left the stage proves the impact they had.

In 2004, they started preparing for a new album, and first recorded “Rainbow Theme” – “Frozen Rainbow” for a SAXON tribute album “Eagleution – A Tribute to Saxon”, put together by Remedy Records in Germany. The recording continued while the band played selected gigs like “Duryu Rock Festival” in Korea (with JURASSIC JADE from Japan, MINDFLOW from Brazil etc), or first-ever opportunity to play in Sapporo, Hokkaido, but their uncompromising attitude and various personal issues of each member delayed the whole process more than they had expected. The recording, carried out at various points, was finally over and while they were waiting the mixing to be done, at the end of 2008, Syouda decided to leave the band. In February 2009, the remaining 3 guys participated in a NWOBHM cover event “Denim And Leather” as “SOLITUDE with Mad Ohuchi”, featuring none other than Takamasa “Mad” Ohuchi of ex-ANTHEM fame on drums. This resulted in Ohuchi joining SOLITUDE as a permanent member later that year.

In December 2009, after 8 years from the debut album, the long-awaited (literally!) new album “Brave the Storm” finally hit the stores. Like its predecessor, the album was produced by Fuyuhiko Inui, ex-band mate of Ida, who has been involved in various recordings as engineer/producer from BUCK-TICK or CHARA to MAVERICK. The mastering duty was handled by Alan Douches at West West Side Music (THE AGONIST, MASTODON etc). In January 2011, the band toured Korea and Japan with Swedish sensation Enforcer, with Mean Streak also added for the Japanese dates. In September, “Brave the Storm” was released in Europe on Fastball Music in Germany, proving their growing popularity in the mainland Europe. In July 2012, the band helped set up a Japan tour for Canada’s Skull Fist, and toured with them and Widow from US. In 2013, they co-hosted the “Japanese Assault Fest”, sharing the stage with GIRLSCHOOL, VEKTOR, FASTKILL, AIR RAID etc.

In April 2014, the band finally started recording a new album. Looking for the kind of sound production they grew up listening, they went into a closed movie theater in Gotenba, Shizuoka, where they brought in the recording equipments, just like Deep Purple did in a hotel; Rainbow did in an old castle etc in the 70’s. With the great ambience and the environment to allow you to play as loud as you want, the place was later modified into a proper recording studio called “Tapestry Recording Studio”. The band appeared at the “Japanese Assault Fest” two years in a row (SATAN, HEAVY TIGER, MIDNIGHT MALICE, ETERNAL ELYSIUM etc) later that year. The album was mixed and mastered at Pama Studios in Sweden, by Magnus “Mankan” Sedenberg and Magnus “Maxe” Axelsson respectively, who had worked with such bands as BULLET and CRUCIFIED BARBARA. The stunning artwork was painted by the Italian artist Velio Josto, who had done covers for WARLORD, MEDIEVAL STEEL, OSTROGOTH among others. The album “Reach for the Sky” will be released on SPIRITUAL BEAST in June 2015, and the band will be extensively touring throughout Japan for the rest of the year, starting in Nagoya in August.

*SACRIFICE (Japan) was one of the leading bands in the Japanese thrash/underground scene from their formation in 1985 until disbanding in 1992, and they left a lot of impacts on young and upcoming bands then and even now. During their career, they released three studio albums, “Crest of Black” (1987), “Total Steel” (1990) and “Tears” (1992) and shared the stage with SODOM (Germany), NUCLEAR ASSAULT (USA), CASBAH, OUTRAGE, UNITED (all from Japan) among many others. They once featured Shinji “Samm” Tachi of ex-SABBAT on drums, who later formed MAGNESIUM and also joined his brother in METALUCIFER. SACRIFICE has recently reunited under the lineup of Sugiuchi, Nishida, Tachi and Temis Osmond of ex-SABBAT fame.

NEWS: Dead Conspiracy album available now

Dead Conspiracy (U.S.) is a classic-style death metal band with origins dating back to the 80s. In the 80s they recorded about one billion demos. They have had long periods of inactivity, but nowadays the band is back in saddle again and playing death metal in the original ways that the genre was conceived. Those of you into trivia might be interested to know that their vocalist now is none other than Mike Abominator who used to growl and scream for the mighty and still alive Gravehill. This is beyond old school - this is ******* original! Formed in 1986, DEAD CONSPIRACY was a pioneering influence on multitudes of blackened death thrash metal bands worldwide. A series of demo tapes followed before the band sunk into the shadows in the early-90s. Formed in 2007, Washington State's audio-terrorists THE DRIP set out to transform the legacy of Napalm Death, Terrorizer, Rotten Sound, and Brutal Truth into a modern and uncompromising grind assault of face-ripping blasts and sonic brutality.

Seizing the attention of grind-advocates Grindcore Karaoke, their self-titled debut EP and The Wasteland EP soon established their reputation as the Northwest's fastest hate-mongers. A series of high-octane live assaults only furthered their infamy among grindfreaks and led to their signing with legendary extreme metal label Relapse Records. 2014 saw the release of A Presentation of Gruesome Poetics, their debut EP for Relapse. A vicious display of skull-crushing, barbaric grind, the album was produced and engineered by Joel Grind of Toxic Holocaust.

Since their signing to Relapse, THE DRIP has continued to tour and play with established acts like Pig Destroyer, Napalm Death, Poison Idea, Magrudergrind, Black Breath, Agoraphobic Nosebleed, and Power Trip, in addition to appearing on numerous festivals including Denver Black Sky, Crucial Fest, and Southwest Terror Fest.

2017 will mark ten years since THE DRIP's first collective grind and with it comes the release of their long-awaited debut LP, The Haunting Fear of Inevitability.
