Seattle metal: Vesuvian

Vesuvian is melodic extreme metal from Seattle. They are a relatively new band. According to the band, Vesuvian began in 2014. The first recording is called Lahar and it was released earlier in 2017. Find out more about the band below. Listen to the music below at the first link.
Biography: Vesuvian, sometimes referred to as a "modern Iron Maiden" by other Seattle musicians, have been climbing the ladder metal of western Washington since their formation two and a half years ago. They have been refining their sound into an unmistakable mix of modern melodic death metal with touches of inspiration across nearly every decade of metal that is culminated into the style that is recognizable but also something never before heard.
The band is composed of members from across the United States and has received much additional out of state support as a result. Starting off, from Melba Idaho lead vocalist and front-man RJ Mitchell, the only Washington natives in the band lead guitarist Corvin Costache and rhythm guitar/backing vocalist Rider Ingalls. and filling the lineup on drums and percussion the heart throb Ohio native Josh O'Neill. All hailing from different styles and genres each member is determined to create something new and special, unwilling to settle for anything less than what they are capable of or even beyond their known capabilities to create.
Their first official EP 'Lahar', released in March 2017, shows the cohesion of influences from across the metal spectrum and across the country through its destructive blend of melodies and aggression.Similar to the band Coheed and Cambria, all of their music has a central story; the story of the Vesuvian follows a post-apocalyptic world ravaged by a plague which the last of humanity has fallen to a final refuge into Mt.Vesuvius, casting two societies, those of the mindless husks outside and the survivors within, but as they physically survived the fall the culture becomes a bit, bleak, like light is seemingly forsaken in favor of callousness and mental enclosure. And the story follows the first person to see a light in a generation, and his attempt to bring it back and possibly save those hallowed souls fallen to the infection.
