NEWS: Distant Sun

At the link below you can listen to latest album by thrashers Distant Sun (Russia/Ukraine). The band recently described itself as: "We’re a power/thrash metal band from Moscow, Russia, but our drummer Eric comes from Ukraine. This style used to be called 'speed metal' 20 years ago, so we might be a bit late with our music. But we play it because we love it, and not because somebody else wants to hear it (although of course we are glad when someone likes it!). We have 3 releases: Sunless Citadel (5-song EP) from 2012, Dark Matter (2015). Our new 2016 full-length is called Into the Nebula." (interview with Wonderbox Metal)
OFFICIAL: Moscow Power Thrashers DISTANT SUN will release their sophomore full-length album Into the Nebula digitally on November 18 via Metalism Records. The album will also be released as a deluxe digipak CD in December. The CD version comes with bonus track "Who's to Blame,' a fun musical departure that has more in common with classics like "Dr. Feelgood" and "Kickstart My Heart."
Following 2015 debut Dark Matter, the new album features a lethal combination of traditional European metal and American style aggression. The lyrics deal with the famous sci-fi and fantasy sagas of Frank Herbert's "Dune" and J.R.R.Martin's "A Game of Thrones", as well as D&D, and "Magic: The Gathering" (tabletop games). Into the Nebula is sure to appeal to fans of MEGADETH, ANNIHILATOR, ICED EARTH and BLIND GUARDIAN.
Line-up:
Alexey Markov - guitars and vocals
Artem Molodtsov - guitars and bass
Erland Sivolapov - drums
